Yes, the unconfirmed retail price of the factory Brembos (including 4 rotors, calipers, but no pads)is between $4500 and $5000.

Don't forget the new rims...

You'd probably be better off ordering a track model with leather...

I believe Leather is only available on the Touring model.. Why would you want to buy Brembo's from a dealer.. I'm sure you can save at least 50% ordering them direct if you really need them and have them installed by someone else..

I have a touring model and the brakes are fantastic.. more than I would ever need.. unless I wanted to put the car on the track..

Dealers charge absolutely rediculous prices for this stuff. Your choices are: find a wrecked Track and scavenge it for the parts (fat chance), sell your first born to the dealer for the parts (there's got to be a better way), wait for other aftermarket big brake systems to be released (including one by Brembo), or just live with the stock brakes, they're almost as good as the Brembos on the street, they just aren't as pretty (could always have the calipers painted for that nice flash of color). Truth is, unless you autocross, you'll probably never notice the difference. BUT, if you absolutely just have to get rid of a few grand, big brakes sure are purdy.

Or...

Do what I did, I'm getting Ferodo racing brakes installed as we speak (or type), and I have the Touring. In the "Technical" forum, there's a post by Cobalt re: brake systems. Andie's a great resource, had a couple of Brembo systems in his shop when I stopped by today, don't think they were for the Z, but he should be able to guide you in the right direction.
