Default Windows close at different speeds

Lately I've noticed that my passenger window takes twice as long to close as my driver's window. I was wondering if this is foreshadowing the window motor eventually breaking down. My warranty is close to expiring and was wondering if this is something I should have looked at.

Definitely! Get that looked at right away before your warranty expires. That's clearly bad sign. Good luck.

Yes, and the technical term is window motor feathering.

Get it checked now. Probably the regulator is wacked. I had my windows worked on due to the drivers side not dropping enough to open the door, as well as getting the foam rollers replaced to stop the grease mark on the window.

Unfortunatly they ended up messing up both windows ( right side didnt come down fast enough to clear the sill edge and the passenger side was dropping in the back to an inch and the front to a half inch . I was told this was normal and that there were three more 350z's that did the same thing ) and I had to take it back to the dealership three times. After being told again that it was normal I gently explained to the service manager that it was NOT normal and that he had three 350z's on his lot that were in need of repair too ( he didnt like that ) and that I expeted him to return my windows to the exact spec in the manual.

He went on about 9 hours of work they wouldnt get paid for... I said I would contact NNA myself but the Main manager showed up on insistance of the service manager and said ... do it... and the tech working on the car is a good guy and did get the limiter switchs to operate exactly as they should.

So im happy but expect a bunch of runaround.

i doubt they will do anything past the 36000 or 3 mile mark. Its gonna cost casue its a booger to get it aligned right. Ask though... they might be nice about it.

my windows dont drop to speck like they use to. they BARELY clear the top when i close em. scares me to the point that ive been rolling the windows up by using the key in the door handle. ive got to take this in, but i dont want them to mess it up more, or have to sit there for hours. but i guess its inevitable.

just do it but expect to deal with the error of "its okay that way"...dont let em get u mad, just advize them that its supposed to be 1/4 inch all along the window edge. per the manual.

hang in there....

I think some people might be misunderstanding the problem. I'm not talking about when you open and close the door, that works fine. I mean when I roll them all the way down or up, the passenger one takes 2-3 times as long and its much louder.

Got you on the slow speed.... take it in. Either the motor is dead or dying or you ahve somethinghanging it up in the track. Whichever.. you need to get it in to them before it breaks something else. If its just slow down its prob the motor setting.
