I asked this question to my dealer. Actually, more specifically I said : Can you get the Z in yellow? You know you can get an Aztec in yellow?

His response was that Nissan sold the 300Z in yellow and they didn't sell well at all. So don't hold your breath. It might look nice, but I'm not sure if Nissan would go the same route again.

You already have 8 sweet colors to choose from.

I don't know for sure, but I remember some news that they were going to add a few colors next year, which is very common for car companies to do, and I expect that yellow would be one of them. I'm guessing some of these will appear, along with the topless Z:

1. pale yellow
2. silver w/ light blue tint
3. deep blue/purple
4. silver w/ green tint
5. metallic red
5. metallic violet

I'm not saying I'd want those colors, but that's the way trends are headed, I think.

Usually everything a dealer says is meant to manipulate into buying a car now, so whenever you ask them if a certain color will be available, they'll shoot it down.

I think the 350Z looks good in yellow, and I'm not a big fan of yellow, especially on curvey cars. It's best on angular cars, whereas red is nicer on the curves, IMO.

Actually, at the point where we were talking about that I had already established I wanted either Blue or Brickyard. We were just talking about the Z in general-- so there was no manipulation needed.

Like others have said, it's likely Nissan will offer extra colors next year. Sunburst Yellow is offered on the SE-R in it's second year.

Let's hope they revive Cherry Red Pearl!! mmmmmmmmm

Also, if they were to do a Silver with blue tint that would look great!! The Blue Silver used by BMW is probably one of the best looking silvers out there.

MustGoFastR Dec 3, 2002 09:38 AM

I'd say that Yellow is pretty likely considering there are plenty of Yellow Xterras around. Lets just hope they stay away from that nasty-a$$ orange color they put it out in this year!

I find yellow one a sports car really hot!

i loved it on an S2000, Porsche, and even on the Type R.

im surprized Nissan didnt offer Yellow!

what i wouldnt mind seeing is a deeper (darker) blue. or a blue in the lines of the old Skylines.

thanks for the reply guys, i think i'm going to cancel my order, co'z if i get a Z, i want to be happy with it and i want to get what i want, witch is yellow, so, i'll wait. till next year...

Danimsta Dec 4, 2002 07:12 AM

personally i like the lemans orange...

and i also like the orange they are offering on the new xterras...

but i think they will have a yellow color(similar to the xterra probly)

OtownZ Dec 4, 2002 07:48 AM

You are cancelling your order because you are waiting for a color they might not even offer? OK.

ImportZ Dec 4, 2002 08:08 AM

Dude you going to have to wait till 2004 for new colors because this isnt a 2002 its a 2003. If I where you i would buy it and just repaint! (if you like yellow that much)

ares Dec 4, 2002 08:32 AM

I wouldnt expect any variations of silver, or blue, or even red. unless they retire the color they are already close to.

as for yellow, I think lemans is as bright as they care to go with it. but who knows.

8 colors is a good variety, if they add any, expect some to disappear, my personal guess would be brickyard and lemans would go, they are not highly ordered, and they are more unnussual colors, sorta like a special color for a few cars each year.

OtownZ Dec 4, 2002 10:13 AM

My dealer said Lemans actually was a very popular color. But who knows. I originally wanted Daytona Blue but due to a problem with paint mismatch on my DB I'm now getting a Brickyard---I keep going back and forth on it though.

I just sold my car today, so I might be without a car if I decide on something else.
