The Z doesn't have an in-cabin air filter.....

...correct? So why did my dealer replace it and charge me $59.95? They called and said I needed one and if my memory serves me correct...the Z doesn't have one. I said yes to see what they would do. They did it. Thoughts?

Vertex350 Jun 29, 2005 01:27 PM

Have them show you where they replaced it. If they can't, then get your money back.

ZU L8R Jun 29, 2005 01:30 PM

Get your $$$ back because there is no filter to replace.

lascala26 Jun 29, 2005 01:33 PM

Dealers suck! I am going to raise hell! This is a total rip-off!!!! I can't believe they actually went through with it.

Art Vandaleigh Jun 29, 2005 02:18 PM

Wow talk about rediculous behavior from the dealer. Fraud anyone?

Wired 24/7 Jun 29, 2005 02:21 PM

Maybe they changed the air intake filter, in which case you still got ripped off bigtime.

Vertex350 Jun 29, 2005 02:22 PM

Let us know what happend man.

gringott Jun 29, 2005 02:25 PM

I know that the service book says to replace the incabin filter, but I have never seen it.

Here is the latest.....which is good news! The technician caught it, but the service advisor didn't. He called to tell me that it was done along with a few other things. When I went to pick it up, the service sheet said "customer requested in-cabin filter to be changed- Car does not have filter". They got lucky! I would have blew my lid.

I think this is an update to the first post. Could the first post had been in between the time he had taken the car to get serviced and then the update after he recieved it. He said that he was called, which means he was somewhere other than the dealership's shop. Looks to me that there is about a 6 hours difference between both posts. Pretty harsh for someone with only 56 posts.

Dekidex1977,

No offense, but get your Sh*t straight before you attack a fellow member. NCparamedic is completely right. Learn from him.

gringott Jun 30, 2005 05:32 AM

Geez, let it go. So many sensitive people, you would think this is a Miata forum.
