Test Drove an '06 Z today at Performance Nissan!
First off, I'd like to thank Jason for hooking me up with the fleet manager, Ken. Jason, you're a really cool guy, I'm glad that there are people like you that work at the dealerships. Ken was really great too, and it felt like we were working together as a team to get the car I wanted. I was soooo close to driving off the lot with one, except my trade-in wasn't as high as I had hoped. That and I changed my mind and I want a daytona blue touring instead of the enthusiast. Which they didn't have. Right now they have a total of 8 coupes that I saw in the side lot. 1 DB enthusiast mt, 1 super black, like 3 ppw's, and 3 of the new silvers. I think only the black and one white had touring.
The one I test drove was a 6MT DB Enthusiast. The funny thing was, if you read my post about power nissan in torrance, was that I didn't even ask for a test drive. While I was already sitting in it and admiring the revised interior, Ken handed me the keys and asked if I wanted to drive it. I would give a review about the drive, but I'm not perfect on stick yet. But enough to drive it around the block for a test drive. I noticed though that the clutch engagement point was kind of high though. But I heard that you can fix it. The shifting was smooth and so easy (it wasn't hard to get into 2nd, like a lot of trannies I read about) I had so much fun with the short throws. I sorta gunned it when we were in 2nd gear and i loved the sound of the exhaust. I know this thread is useless without pics, but I forgot my camera.
The whole way home I imagined to be the first one on the block with the 06 Z, but I guess that will have to wait a week or two.
Dan <- Soon to be Z owner!
Edit- Oh and by the way, I think the base models came with HIDs, might have to verify that

If I don't get the Invoice price soon I'm going to burst. My dealer is going to price me based on Invoice - Holdback. And I already have all the info EXCEPT Invoice.
I know I have to be patient...at some point in time Edmunds.com will have the info. It just kills me because people are already driving the car, so it's not like the info isn't there.
