Default GASP! The beginning of a rattle. Any Clues?

Well, after 27,000 miles & 33 months, I have my first rattle... a periodic rattle around the steering wheel column.

Anyone else have a rattle in similar location & figure out what it was?

I have a similar rattle. If I push up at the bottom of the dash (on either side of the steering wheel, it goes away. If I force my finger into the space between the bottom of the 3 gage cluster and the top of the dash, it goes away.

A simple fix is to go to a linen store, get one thin black napkin. I got a suede/silk napkin. Fold it a couple of times and stuffed it between the guage cluster and the dash. Very simple and cheap fix.

When I bought the car to the dealership to fix the rattle. They ordered some parts and after it was installed, it still rattled, so they told me any more work on it will cost me $90CDN an hour. So I figured the $5 napkin fix was much cheaper.

Appreciate the tips, guys. I'll give them a shot.

"27K miles and no rattles...yet." Fletch69z, That's great! Actually, I only have 1/4 to 1/3 of a rattle since it happens only on occassion!! LOL!

Thanks for the tip. The rattle is intermittent and I’m not about to take the dash apart. With my luck I‘d fix one rattle and introduce two more.

That only works if it was made in America. Them crazy foreign cars are too sensitive for that traditional fix.

Being in Arizona - when we get a rattle , first thing we start looking for is a snake!
Those dang things can get in anywhere!

my instrument cluster only rattled once so far at 15K miles when i was on the way back from downtown Reno Nev. near Virginia Street last month. The road was soooo bad over there. Funny.....I've been unable duplicate the same rattle since.
