"Its a poor men's porsche" says 06' owner
 

Went to another dealership tonite just to push myself in buying a 2006 350Z, luckily, there were more 350Z got off the truck.

Talked to this man who is taking delivery of a 2006 PPW Base. He said, "This car is a poor men's porsche" and laughed. :confused:

"Hey no, thats a Z man, what are u talking about?!" I replied! :cool:

That's what the wifey keeps sayin... "it looks like a wanna-be porsche..."

Yea but delivers almost as much performance and is mid 30g's so think what you want it's been around for a while and when the fairlady first came over to the us it actually beat the 911 at the time but alright whatever ya say it's a damn good bargain if it is because a Z will hold it's own against a 911 Carrera so :icon38:

guess if your gonna be wannabe something, might as be a helluva car like a porsche. look at a honda and you say wannabe WRX? :icon8: have higher standards is what i say. :icon39:

Delivery man can't afford , and everything's a poor mans everything unless you buy a ferrari or other huge name sports cars then you're just a poor man j/k

When I first pointed out the car to my wife she thought it was the new porsche. She know cars by sight pretty good. She just hadn't seen one yet. That was in late '03. It didn't take much convicing after that to get a '04 in late '03. ;)

I said to her, "Honey I'm going to go out and buy one of those 350Z today." She was like, "We'll you better bring back a nice one." :eek: She loves the cars I pick out she just hates the dealers and how they try to play games all the time. I had it all set up through Internet Sale ($500 under invoice) so all I had to do was write the check. All she had to do was hand me the checkbook for her OK. :)

By and by this 350Z has been good for us.

I remember in March 2003 when I got my Z and I parked somewhere.. this guy getting into a Porche Boxter said to me "Is that the new porche" i just shook my head and walked away...

If i was you I would of said, It seems you got money but no brain at all so sad

Unfortunately no, they were closing, i just got off work. Will get a 2006 pretty soon, got a quote from another dealership, $31.5 +TTL Silver Alloy Touring 5AT. Wondering whether its a good deal or not!

sorry for being a little off topic. do you guys notice how everybody has a "I was going to buy a z" story. And then when you ask them what happened, they make up stuff like "i didn't like the bounciness; the interior is plastic". Why don't they just say, "I couldn't afford it". I mean, let's be serious, if you like how the car looks, can tolerate a two-seater, and have enough money, you are going to buy this car after one test drive.
p.s. two of the guys who told me their z stories drive a miata and a jetta. I understand if they turned around and bought an s2000, vette, or porsche, but come on.

well the designers of the Z had one objective in mind ... a car built to compete and some may even say, be better than a porsche

Z is a Z, a 350Z. Porsche is the other side of the highway, go drive 2 more miles. Z over Boxster anytime :thumb:

I would take that as a compliment if they think it's a porsche. When the see you riding out on their butt and realize it says 350Z on that sexy azz end. They'll know coming to the realization it's a Z and be in shock and awe'....lol :cool:

I'd be insulted. I'm one of the very few that do not like the looks of the Porsche. I hate it's duck bill flat front with the two humps for headlights and the short down slope of a rear end that makes the roof line looks like it never ends.

Disclaimer: No, I'm not saying the Z is better then the Porsche. I have always dislike the look of the Porsche. This does not mean the Porsche is a bad car. Just not my taste in lines.
