New noise! I don't think anyone has heard this yet!

Hey guys, new noise starting to get more noticeable. The weather is getting colder here in wisconsin, so I don't know if this is related, but when I disengage the clutch in the higher rpm range (over 4K) there is an audible noise in the drivetrain. It sounds as if it is when the clutch grabs the flywheel. It sounds like a car horn honk. It is only briefly, but I keep thinking somebody is honking at me! It only lasts a split second while the clutch is locking to the flywheel. Anyone else experience this. By the way, the clutch is not slipping, and there is only 16k on the car, with a replaced clutch when they replaced the transmission.

Wow, that sounds weird.

its probably your engine. its not safe to pour honey into the hole where oil goes.

run over any water foul lately?

:)

... in all honesty... I have never heard a 'honking' sound .. amid all the rattles, buzzing, clunking, grinding, and clicking sounds my car makes ;)

its the new tranny. mine lets out kind of a "buzzsaw" sound when i push in the clutch over 4K mainly in 1st and sometimes second gear.

i wouldnt call it a horn. but im fairly sure where talking about the same thing, just different descriptions.

to me it sound like something is spinning real fast then. kinda unwinding

ive heard of a few others that have this problem
