I'm stuck

I have about 1200 to spend now and dont know what to buy. I would like having more power but want better handeling too (autoX)
My current mods are, Crank pulley, Injen CAI, Kinetix V4 plenum, Borla TD, and test pipes.
The mods im in a dalema on that i could get a either a Reflash, LW flywheel, Final Drive, Hotchkis suspension kit and 25mm spacers, or meganracing coilovers.
so please help me out what would you guys do?

If you do autoX, might want to get the Hotchkis to get rid some of the understeer.

norapat01 Nov 1, 2005 11:00 PM

lightweight flywheel and clutch, 3.917:1 final drive, and a Nismo LSD.

Racer Z Nov 2, 2005 01:26 AM

Since you're in Florida, you might want to save the money as emergency hurricane funds...Seriously!

supra crazy Nov 2, 2005 07:34 AM

att that lw flywheel stuff cost more than i have
i guess ill just do suspension. has any body tried Megan racing coilovers?

Have not done much with the Z in autoX yet. But in general, HP does not gain you much in autoX. Best bang for the $ is tires, then suspension. Also, if you use road race coilovers, it may make your car too stiff for autoX, you may be actually slower. Talk to the fast guys at the club for best options.

with the mods you have now def. get a ECU reflash
sway bars would help with handling

u can do both for 1200

gsazabi Nov 2, 2005 08:42 PM

Do not get ECU reflash.
I've lost 5hp and 10ft lb of torque respectively after Technosquare reflash.
I had them set it back to stock and got my power back.
I have dyno chart before and after comparison, but i'm too lazy to look for it=(

If youre gonna do autox try the tein flex supspension. I have it on my roadster and it handles like a charm.

I've heard bad things about the megan racing stuff. I was thinking of going that route. I chose Tanabe instead but of course I have a friend who is a supplier so I got it at 50% off, :D.

Suspension mods will make you faster than horsepower mods when it comes to track/autoX.

Soccerprep205 Nov 3, 2005 03:03 PM

Switch

hey if you are looking for a little better handling... read up about the SSS speed sensative steering for details... i'll be selling a switch in a week or 2 to improve it... should help on the track quite a bit!!!! the switch will be $40+ shipping, not a very big chunk out of the 1200, ive knocked off a few seconds on the road course. and daily driving when i take a HARD turn i can feel the difference... feels like i have more boundaries... take them turns harder and faster

Jason@Performance Nov 3, 2005 03:16 PM

auto x with that budget...

Tanabe SO-C or TEIN Basic
NISMO Brake Pads, Stop Tech Lines, Stop Tech Rotors, Motul Fluid...

I can get a package price put together for you...

supra crazy Nov 5, 2005 07:46 AM

ok thanks i think im gonna go the suspension route since some say this reflash sucks. I know its offtopic but has anyone used the Emanage ultamate and got gaines?

and on another note Why cant i post in the FS section?! says i need to activate my accont.

Fletch69z Nov 5, 2005 09:18 AM

I just got tanabe GF210 springs and I love them. Tanabe is good stuff. Just an endorsement, :D.
