Nissan's Rusting???
I really hope this isn't something that comes up on the Z's.
(someone else posted this on another forum I visit) Came up on a Nissan board I'm on...evidently the 02-05 Altmas and Maximas are at "extreme risk" at having their rear subframe assembly rust so bad due to water and road salt, it'll actually fall apart. Snippet from the recall notice: "Extremely cold temperatures, the road salt can promote corrosion in the rear sub-frame. Corrosion can promote cracking in the rear-subframe, which would cause a knocking sound in the rear suspension. Campaign would involve repairing or replacing the subframe, if necessary." http://www.nissanhelp.com/Ownership/.../NTB05-114.htm |
my 03 max had some rustin problems but i traded it in so i dont give a rats asss

I really hope this isn't something that comes up on the Z's. We get heavy road salt up here, i store my car because of it. |
lol, the day it snows in Hawaiil, the last thing you'll have to worry about is rust in your Z, you'll be more worried about radiation poisioning or some huge tsunami about to wipe you out.

man must be nice to live in hawaii and own a Z........i can only imagine

My G went in for warrenty work last fall... they changed all 4 door skins as they had signs of CANCER:(

true, however we do have low lying areas that are below sea level and when it rains and/or its a high tide we can end up with salt water roads and that stuff will kill a car.

^There ya go :D not to mention most of our roads are beach side :p
