who has dynoed their 06's??

just did a baseline dyno on my 06 Z yesterday... results were a bit disappointing. anyway, here are the numbers

on a dynopack 4th gear pull

253 hp
213 lbs tq

anyone else dynoed their stock 06's? i wonder if all the rev-up motors have this little tq...

Joeys_z Mar 15, 2006 12:27 PM

You should have done the pull in 5th!

Silkk Mar 15, 2006 12:29 PM

HP # looks about right...

Get the revup lower plenum and you can build some more Tq from what I hear. A few 06s were dynoing at AAM very impressively with just a few boltons and revup lower plenum mod. Like 260-270whp and 240-250wtq.

deviljon Mar 15, 2006 01:10 PM

yea i've already got a 287 lower plenum, picking up a MD 5/16" iso thermal plenum spacer from perfnissan when they get it in stock again. if i just put in the lower plenum w/out the spacer, will that also add more tq? if so, how much?

plumpzz Mar 15, 2006 01:27 PM

guys in 287 motors wish they can hit 250whp w/ some mods...ur fine. If u want more torque get the MREV mod...sounds pretty nice and it has good results.

Fa1rLadyZ Mar 15, 2006 03:49 PM

not bad. here is my result with popcharger.
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...popcharger.jpg
the guy who did my dyno said i could got more hp if he used the other dyno machine since one he used to dyno mine read lower than the other dyno machine that they had, but i am happy with my result.

deviljon Mar 15, 2006 05:52 PM

230+ lb tq and 265 hp w/ just a popcharger? why is your power so high compared to mine? what gear did you dyno it in? i might've heard the results wrong, since it was over the phone... it was either 213 lb tq or 230 and either 253 hp or 258 hp... either way, you've got some impressive numbers.

i want one too

SilverstonE-O6 Mar 15, 2006 08:10 PM

I dyno'd 272whp and 261trq at AAM with the mods listed in my Sig. No tune, no reflash, stock header, no internals. But my numbers are uncorrected. Fa1RLadyZ: No idea why your numbers are so high (noticed yours WERE SAE corrected) with just a pop charger. Then again, the MREV plus kit takes alittle top end HP away, but gives you a crap load of trq. Its worth it. Guys at AAM did 2 pulls in 4th, last pull in 5th. 5th gave me the best numbers.

what is SAE corrected? and how much would you say the mrev+ helped? im planning on getting just the mrev first, and if the PLUS is really that much better, then i will get that too. How much gains on top of the mrev does the plus give? and how much power do you lose up top with it?

The MREV+ is the best bang-for-the-buck mod. It uses their 5/16" spacer, isothermal gasket, and the machined lower plenum (read: NOT STOCK lower plenum).

There are plenty of threads detailing the gains, which are mostly seen in the mid-range... between 16-20whp and 18-22wtq. However, you do lose a couple of hp and tq at the top, but the gain in the mid-range more than makes it worth-while.

SAE corrected means the dyno is corrected for environmental factors that may affect the dyno, such as temperature, humidity, etc.

Lastly, if your a 6-speed, you should be dynoing in 5th gear. Also, a DynoPack measures hp WITHOUT the wheels attached, so your readings are technically slightly higher because you don't have the added rotational mass of the rims and tires.

deviljon Mar 15, 2006 08:34 PM

hey armitage... isn't that "machined lower plenum" the same lower plenum taken from the non rev-up motor? as in the 287 lower plenum?

Armitage Mar 15, 2006 08:37 PM

No. The MREV uses a machined 287 lower plenum. It is not the same as the stock 287 lower plenum.

yeah 265 was first run and last run i got 268 hp with 241 tq. i do not know the reason why my car dynoed so high, but all my friends tells me that i got factory freak! :D

Armitage Mar 15, 2006 08:40 PM

^You have the dynoplot image? Was it SAE corrected? Dynojet? Dynopack?

look at post #6 thats my dyno

Armitage Mar 15, 2006 08:55 PM

Sorry, blew through the thread too quickly.

Yeah, your numbers are high too because you used a DynoPack. It removes rotational mass of the rims and tires from the equation and raises the results. How much is hard to say... depends on teh weight and size of the rims and tires, but you can probably expect to drop at least 10whp from your plot with them on.

deviljon Mar 15, 2006 08:57 PM

what the hell... my dyno was on a dynopack too yet results were much lower... does it matter what gear your do the pull in?

Armitage Mar 15, 2006 08:59 PM

Yes it does. 5th gear is what they call a "1-to-1" ratio for manuals, 4th for auto's. Those are the respective gears your 'supposed to' dyno in.

Don't forget, he also had a Popcharger. While that wont' make a huge difference, it has been shown to gain around 6rwhp, which might be inflated even more on a dynopack.

deviljon Mar 15, 2006 09:03 PM

the guy had told me he dynoed my car in 4th gear on the dynopack... does that mean my numbers are supposed to be higher or lower?
