 Someone backed into my car! What do y'all think this'll cost (getting an estimate tomorrow)?

Do you think I should just use the money I'm given to fix the bumper and use it to buy a new aftermarket one? :)

steela2110 Jun 6, 2006 05:08 PM

Buy an aftermarket one!

h8rain Jun 6, 2006 05:13 PM

Damn, they did that much damage. Did they at least leave a note?

Ky Z Jun 6, 2006 05:18 PM

Looks like your hood is ok though...could have been worse.

loquitoy2k Jun 6, 2006 05:19 PM

Yep! I consider myself lucky that only the bumper got stuff. The hood is aluminum but the bumper's plastic, so that cut down on cost.

I got a phone number and a name on paper.

breed Jun 6, 2006 05:33 PM

damn that sucks.

I consider yourself even more lucky, assuming the name and number are both valid. A guy I work with got his Z backed into and all he got was a note saying sorry and a 100 dollar bill tucked under his wiper. Cost him a little over 500 to get the bumper repaired.

Sorry to hear, man. At least they left you contact info, I didn't think people did that anymore.

chuquison Jun 6, 2006 05:45 PM

I got you beat I got my car in a monday and got hit head on by a Semi on wed. 7k in damage. then got the car back and some dusch at work backed in to the fender leaving a smalllllllll dent the dent cost me 600 bucks to fix so I say maybe 500-900 to fix your car.

Mr_pharmD Jun 6, 2006 06:25 PM

go through your insurance and have the body shop install the aftermarket kit for a lot less.

Swiffer Jun 6, 2006 07:06 PM

Damn, that sucks. Atleast they left contact info. Make sure you go through a professional body shop so it gets fixed properly.

A lot of my friends laugh and ask me why I always park my car way in the back of parking lots. I'd rather walk an extra hundred feet than park with everyone else and deal with my car getting dented from car doors and backed into. But of course sometimes $hit happens and you can't avoid it. I'd go with an aftermarket front-end man..cheaper and some of them are better looking.

Black_Sunshine Jun 6, 2006 08:07 PM

Damn. I thought a fat rock chip my first week was bad. This truly sucks. On the plus side, a bumper replacement is an almost trivial repair.

Wendy Jun 6, 2006 11:06 PM

it could've been worse...bumper could be fixed or just get a different front

gsazabi Jun 6, 2006 11:11 PM

Damn...sorry to see that.

Wanna do 2-men group buy for Amuse front bumper?:icon44:
Maybe they can knock of 10 bucks for each of us:p

angelzhope720 Jun 7, 2006 12:07 AM

Could have been worse.

Reyes_USN Jun 7, 2006 12:14 AM

ouch ! sorry to hear that =( well least you have the option of going aftermarket

I feel you 100% I always park in the back at work. The thing is I have to worry about car thiefs or teenagers ****ing with my car while i'm at work.

Things will turn out for the better man trust me it always does. Just never seems like it at the moment.
