Did you try to fill the tank? Has this ever happened before?

Santacruzslick Jun 24, 2006 08:49 PM

Did you totally fill it? If so bring it by your dealership. Could be the sending unit on the tank gone bad or just needs to be cleaned or something.

Its just a float with a magnet on it, when the magnet hits the bottom, the light goes on, and when its got fuild the float moves up about a 1" from the bottom and doesnt trigger the light. Sometimes it gets stuck at the bottom despite being filled. Hit the container it may work, Or the magnet came off the float
I only fill mine about a 1/4 full the keep the light off cause I never use the washer, only in hard corner will the fuild swash and cause the light to come on

i was trying to see if i can reach the bottom of the bottle.. but it seem hard to check.. i don't know what to do with it ...it is hard to reach the container ..

Try disconnecting your Battery. This might solve the problem. Good Luck

And? Did disconnecting the battery work? Were you ever able to get the warning light off?

I just disabled the sensor on the tank, worked great for a track car when I didn’t want the light going off every other corner.

I had the same problem. Resevoir was full but light was on. I tried drving the car, tapping the resevoir at the top under the hood, all to no avail. Finally, I took off the small plastic shield underneath the car that covers the tank and senor. I gently tapped several times on the bottom of the resevoir with a hammer and that loosened the stuck magnet. No more light! Saved me the hassle of buying a new sensor and the mess of having to install it. I hope this helps someone.
