It's hot in my Z.!!!!!

I have noticed this ever since I've had my Z, and well I dont get hardly any air in my Z with the windows down and I get so hot!

I guess its all about dynamics but Its the only car I've been in where having the windows down basically does nothing. Is it just me or am I not the only one?

This is the only thing I dont like about the Z, other than this it's perfect.

You paid for the AC, use it.

Pay + AC = Use

twotonez Aug 24, 2006 09:15 PM

Fine I guess I'll just use my AC more.

OMG Right when I read that I started laughing out loud! I immediately imagined someone sitting the passenger side just blowing air as hard as they could.:icon18: :icon18: :icon18: :icon18: :icon18: :icon18:

Ya man I know what your saying. When I drive, I like to save gas, so I roll down the window. Try holding out you arm at an angle so the air flows into your car. Works for me?

Minimum turbelance with the windows down in the Z. My 97 COBRA, when you dropped the windows was like letting hurricane Katrina inside.

Be thankful, and use the A/C. :skidmark:

First things first. If its hot outside I'd suggest closing your vents first if you are going to run the windows down. May seem common sense, but I drive with the windows down often when I'm alone and I rarely get hot. Unless of course the vents are open taking in hot air from outside and blowing it into the cabin.

If its dreadfully hot out, even this will do nothing... That's when you use the AC tuned to about 65 degrees. :)

The 350Z is hot.

Insulation between you and heat making stuff (motor) is limited. When driving, put your hand to the side of the transmission hump. If its 60 degrees outside, and you are comfortable at 70, there is no need to turn the heat ON.

Bananax Aug 25, 2006 07:03 AM

I feel the same. It's hot in the Z. I have also noticed that it takes longer to get cold air after I turn on a/c than any of my previous vehicles.

ZlleH Aug 25, 2006 07:07 AM

I used to think that until I read a study that basically states that you save more money using AC then having your window down because the drag that is caused when the windows are down causes you to lose more gas then using the AC. This test was done on the highway though.

My AC sucks balls. Only really blows cold air when I'm on the throttle...

zedated Aug 25, 2006 07:58 AM

It's 100-107 degrees lately here in Texas and my AC works fine. Out of curiosity, do any of you with weak AC have underdrive crank pullies? This could be reducing your AC function.
