do you clean your Z even though it's raining?
just wondering if you guys clean your Z after parking your car in the garage after driving it the rain. I get paranoid leaving my car just dripping with rain and dirt overnight especially with nice wheels with fat lips. I still clean my Z even though I know it's going to pour the next day. what about you guys?

Back in the day a guy I knew would get out of his blazer at stop lights and wipe down his car.....while it was raining......
He did his own paint and wasn't bad to boot, but hey, whatever floats your boat. |
Ive had my car for 11 months... ive never washed it

I wash and wax/clay bar every break inbetween long spans of rain. Need to protect the paint from all the acid rain and chemicals kicked up.

I wash my ride at least 2x a week. The other day it rained and then the sun came out, OUCH. Water spots, Yikes. Had to wash it again. Never too tired to wash the ride. Car always seems to drive better when waxed and cleaned.

^^^ Literally...

If you still have your stock wheels, put them on when you see rain in the forecast. There's no point in flossin 2-3k rims and tires if its pouring down rain anyways. As far as the paint goes, you should always have a layer of wax on it, if the water doesn't bead and run off well enough, use a microfiber cloth to suck all that moisture off before you let it sit in the garage to avoid spots.

I use to wipe down after rain, or wipe the dust every night when i got home but now that's just over kill to me to do everytime. I'll just give it some tlc every 2 weeks when weather permits.

In July and August I wash the car in the rain wearing a bathing suit. Of course its impossible to dry, but it looks pretty good.
Also there is no need to rinse. |

Considering that you paid near double what we paid for our Z's ...I'm shocked that you treat the Z like an old 1980 Toyota Corolla or something :icon22: |
if i get caught in the rain ill rinse it off with a hose before i put it in the garage, otherwise i drive my 90 dodge stratus when its raining/bad weather. i pimped it out with a new headunit 120.00 from BB , and some sound mat stuff.

Depends on how energetic I'm feeling or how dirty it is. If I know there's a chance it will rain later on in the day I won't.

whats the point of taking your rims off and putting old ones on just because of rain...not to hate or anything but taking ALL 4 rims off just cuz of rain is a little much... |
