Depends what they test it against. Throw it in with some hopped up econoboxes and the Z is king. Put it in with some real sports cars and they think it is getting old, needs some power, should handle a little better. After reading all of the comparisions over the years what I have taken away from it all is that the Z is one well rounded car. It has looks, good power, good handling, etc. It is not the best at any one thing - it does everything well from the factory. I think that is why we all love it. For not much more than the averaged price sedan you get a true sports coupe that can hang with cars twice the cost or more, etc, etc. just like most of the reviews say. It was nice to see them praise it after reading a couple of articles where it came in pretty much last. I still can't see buying any other car I could afford over the Z so what they say doesn't matter to me anyway but I'll have to shoot my WRX driving buddy a copy of the R&T link. :icon17:

It's a great car and unbeatable for the money, but I worry that history will repeat itself and the car will get too expensive, too bloated, and too dated to stay relevant. It seems to me that the trend has already begun, let's hope they can keep it in check before it suffers the same fate as the 300Z, the Supra, ect.

Best sports car under 30k and the fact that the Z can perform on par or similarly to cars that costs twice or nearly it's price says alot.

Doubtful. The 350z is in no way the same category as the late 90's model turbo cars. The Z is at most 40k new (mostly under 30k), and is still selling quite well. In fact, I see more 06 models on the road now than any other year.

Lets just hope nissan doesen't phase out certain parts 0f the 350 as they are doing with the 300. I have a ton of 300 parts and getting some of them takes time. Sometimes too much time.

hands down, we win

josephchihweilu Nov 13, 2006 05:41 PM

our cars dont get the credit it deserves. glad to hear it

Very nice, cool to see. Z is a timeless design, much like FD's, MKIV Supra's and NSX's IMO. I'll be keeping mine a long time:)

I love my Z so far, but I just wish it was little quicker or at par (STOCK) with maybe an STI or MR. Least they aren't as sexy as the Z...

I've been thinking about this for the past year or so. Prices of the popular sport compacts have already increased just in the last 2 or 3 years, with no signs of stopping. Every trim level of the 350Z has increased a bit in price. The Subaru STi originally debuted for around $31,xxx, and is now about $34,xxx. Same with the newest model of the Evo. The RS originally came out at $26,xxx, now starts at $29,xxx. The MR trim starts at $36,xxx!!

I'm concerned that unchecked, the prices of the cars that we love are going to keep increasing until they once again price themselves out of the market, especially with the upcoming Supra as well.

I've got a feeling that toyota will escalate the pricing trend with a new supra at about 40k to start. I hope this doesnt happen because there will be no sport coupes for under 30k soon.

savvy Nov 14, 2006 05:58 AM

the supra is not being made

MyV6IsFast3r Nov 14, 2006 06:04 AM

Too bad I didn't wait till 06 or 07 to get the bigger HP motor :( Oh well still love my Z.

Toyota announced that they were not going to make the Supra after all. The Lexus LF-A however is still on the way.
