Armrest Cigarette Burn!

Wow, We Had A Blustery Day And With The Window Half Cracked The Live Ash Was Blown Off My Cig. I Tried To Find It But The Nest Thing I Knew I Smelt Vinyl Melting. Now I Have A Raised Center-blackened Burn In Myarmrest. Any Ideas Anyone On Whether I Should Attempt To Repair It Myself And What Kit To But Or Should I Have Someone Do It Professionally?

Take it in to a trim shop to get fixed. The kit's the sell don't work.
O and to prevent it in the future you might want to stop smoking

Cheers

+1^

I also smoke but will not in my car, you just can't get rid of the smell. My previous car had leather and I had a cherry fly into the back seat which left a nice mark on the seat. I called this detail shop here and they were able to fix it up but it did cost... I think it was around $25, been a while...

I smoked for 16 years! Quit almost 6 years ago, best time of my life!

rroppmd,

Definitely do not use of of those do it yourdelf kits. Check out this websight. www.fabrion.net. This their business. They deal with car dealers all over the country. They should be able to repair it for you, probably less than a $100 and be perfect or very near perfect.

Just put those bathroom flower stickers all over and hide it. Trust me on this.

If you plan to keep smoking in ur Z you shouldn't bother to get it repaired, it will happen again.

Eazzy 12-24-2006 05:59 PM

I got hooked on Nicorette so I started smoking to get off it. I dont know what was worse, the gum in the carpet or the burns on my seat

Fletch69z 12-24-2006 06:04 PM

Don;t smoke. Prevention is the best way, :D.

Smoking makes ur lungs look like that. It doesnt look like u can breathe with all that in the way.

Try and stop.

As for the burn mark. If you want to try and do it yourself then I would suggest trying it on another object until you think you can do it to your car. I think it would be better if you went to a shop though.

Anyone know any surefire ways to remove smoke smells? I bought my Z used and the previous owner was a smoker. I got rid of a lot of it...but its in the ventilation system....so whenever i use the heater or anything it starts to come back.
