Lately I've been considering...
As of late, I've been seriously contemplating trading in my 03 black Z, for an '04 black G35. I just wanted to solicit some thoughts on why I should or shouldn't trade from the my350z community.
Thanks guys http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p59/modzs/modzs1.gif |
becuz Z > G :)
|
Both the Z and G are very nice cars but i find the z to be more of a sports car. If you want more luxury, G is the way to go.
|
IMO its a win-win situation. They both have their pluses and minuses.
|
IMO, the G is ugly compared to the Z, but if you need the space or the extra seats go for it
|
Don't let people make you feel bad about making a more pratical choice. BTW, now is the time to get 06 G35's. They are giving good discounts. I got a G35 6MT for 26K. BTW, the G35 only weights 133lbs more. Considering the 4 doors and practicallity thats not bad. It also is much more comfortable in bumpy roads. It's not the edgy sports car. If you crave edgy the G is not for you.

z's are cuter.
keep the z<3 |
Get a G35 Coupe, still a very nice looking car...
But in my opinion, a Z33 > G35 Coupe; just has a more aggressive stance. |
For some reason the G35 Coupe is 52lbs heivier then the 4 Door. Must be the nicer seats. Seems like a lot when you lose 2 doors and a usefull backseat/trunk. They do look nice. And they have a great tire package as well.

The Infiniti G35 Coupe MT shares the same engine and transmission with the 350Z, handles very well, but adds a lot of luxury.
The differences: 1) The G35 Coupe MT does not have the Z’s rigid engine and trunk struts so there is a little more flex in the G35. This is noticeable to the driver. The Z stays flatter than the G35. The Z definitely handles better 2) The G35 Coupe MT has much less noise inside the vehicle. The doors and body have more insulation. The Z coupe is like a “mini-station wagon” as far as the rear wheels being inside the car, and the Z coupe suffers from significant noise from these rear wheel wells that are inside the car. The G35 Coupe MT has a rear seat. When the rear seat is in position, you do not get the rear wheel noise inside the passenger compartment (you do hear the rear wheel noise when the rear seats in the G35 are folded since that exposes the rear wheel wells to the passenger compartment). 3) The G35 has a more attractive interior and a less dramatic exterior than the Z. 4) The “head-turning-factor” is less with the G35 Coupe MT. People pay attention to the Z, but hardly notice the G35 (it has an attractive design, but it is understated). --Spike |
I'd say test-drive the G, and think about it for a few weeks till you make that decision.

don't buy a G35. This guy I know owns one and one day when he was going somewhere he got into a small accident. He was behind this Hyundai waiting for the light to turn green. He wasn't really pay attention and he thought the guy in front of him moved up, so without looking he gives it some gas. He hit the back of the Hyundai and his front bumper literally flew off! He didn't even hit the Hyundai hard, it was like a little tap! DONT BUY ONE

Poop or get off the pot.
|
G35 is heavier then the Z, the new G35s have 306 in hp so
its right on par with the 07 Zs but again its heavier. If your looking for sports take the Z if u need a nice grocery getter go with the 35! |
G35 is heavier, back seat is usless, there is nothing sporty about woodgrain, and on the older versins they make less power ewwwwww!!!

I admire the G35, but leave it at that, couldn't imagine parting with the Z and paying that much more for stuff I don't really need.
Why were you considering the trade? |
Some of you are talking about the G35 sedan, and some are talking about the G35c... so confusing!
|
both are nice cars. i own a G and love pretty much all of it. i would like to have a 2 seater just so i wouldn't have to give my friends rides but besides that i love it. they are more luxurious than a Z but not quite as sporty. if you want more luxury than sporty go with the G
|
All this worthless advise in this thread.
what matters most is the $. How much do you owe on the Z? Would buying the G extend your payments/make you pay more overall? If so, I'd say NO |
