Can't make up my mind - Nismo kit or rims?

Well, I just got my Z a week ago and I can't wait to start modding. I have tons of experience so there is no problem with installing a kit, etc. That's the easy part, but the hard part is deciding whether I should get a Nismo kit + spoiler first or go for the rims first. I was thinking if I get the Nismo kit I would paint the stock 17s gunmetal or bronze (plus its got new tires) until August when I got enough money for rims. It's so tough...what do you guys think. She is a beautiful '03 Daytona Blue 350Z .

The nismo kit isn't that much of a change.. I'll think you'll see more of a tansformation with rims. Just my .02. Rims, then the kit. :D

BTW, go 19 or 20.

I just bought a set of 19" NISMO LM GT4s for when spring/summer rolls around... +1 on the rims.

GhostFace Jan 27, 2007 03:40 PM

rims and a drop, trust me

Jay'Z Jan 27, 2007 03:46 PM

Are u thinking nismo v1 or v2?

THE TECH Jan 27, 2007 04:15 PM

Rims before kit always.

dc89kr Jan 27, 2007 04:19 PM

rims first for sure.
rims alone can enhance the appearance of a car.
but a car with a body kit rollin on stock rims? it makes the viewers feel like they have to need a gag; looks incomplete.

black06z Jan 27, 2007 05:58 PM

Are you kidding me? Body kit? Hell no.
Rims and Suspension first. Body kit would probably be last in most mod lists.

bigmikewhite6 Jan 27, 2007 06:07 PM

+ on the rims

SS728 Jan 27, 2007 06:14 PM

Don't be a ricer and get a body kit before rims.

:icon8: Are you telling him to get a kit first or to get rims first? I hope it's the latter if you're pulling the whole "rice" card. Not that the term isn't already was over-played.

Wow, thanks for the uncesseary insult. Body kit before rims does not mean you're a ricer. Ricers are people who have no goals for their cars and slap on everything without plans and taste.

This is my last ride. Know who you are talking to before spitting insults.

For everyone else thanks a lot for the comments I'll look into it. =)

lol. it was over-exaggeration.
I apologize.

This is a debate?

Get what you feel is best. If you can't decide, wait until you can.

I love my '06 stock rims and will most likely do my kit before even considering rims, if I change them at all.

*Flame on*

lol ok no problems. But you guys are helping me leans towards the rims first anyhow. Now the search goes on. :icon38: oh my.

bofa Jan 27, 2007 06:45 PM

I just noticed you got an 03.. maybe an upgrade to 06/07 rims (can be found with tires for ~$1000) will allow an updated look and the new kit. :D

I'll be selling my 06 rims soon, but there are others already for sale right now too.

Armitage Jan 27, 2007 07:07 PM

Rims first. 17's with a body kit wouldn't look good, they would look too tucked in. Hell, stock 18's wouldn't be flush without spacers.

Beka Z Jan 27, 2007 07:12 PM

Rims Rims Rims! :)

Armando Jan 27, 2007 07:14 PM

Go with 19's.
