would you buy an 07 350z without the VQHR?

i live in Kuwait and went to the dealership last week to check out the new 07 350z..i was really shocked to find out that it was typically an 06 with the older track rims and the non rev-up VQ engine..(287hp)!! the only thing new was the interior:icon8: !!..
what do u think guys?..is it worth buying?...or should i go for the 07 g35 sedan..(has the VQHR)?
they both cost about the same..but the problem is that the g35 is not available in a manual tranny:icon22:
what do u think?

not to sure.... about how they got to kuwait but the dealership might be trying to sell an 06 to an idiot thinking its an 07....thats my guess

Tenac1ousZ 03-01-2007 01:52 AM

it's like a loose-loose situation for you in Kuwait lol. If you buy it soley for performance, both the 287hp Z and '07 auto g35 would probably be the same in a straight line, but the Z handles better in corners. The Z sounds nicer though

I think some how the middle east gets lamer versions of the Z. I think dubai also gets the '07 Z but in '06 form.

saud2k 03-01-2007 02:06 AM

its the same for other cars..the 07 s2000 here has the 2.0L engine..whereas u guys have the 2.2L...i think its the same with the 07 350z..there arent to many car enthusiasts here in the middle east thats why we dont have the updated engines..

saud2k 03-01-2007 02:09 AM

no im sure its an 07 350z..you could tell by the interior changes..the dealership also says that it has 306hp!..and its a non rev-up!!

LvntheZ 03-01-2007 02:14 AM

So THAT'S where they send all the leftover previous model year cars! LOL, just sticker them as the new model year and stick it to the poor saps over there... sucks to be you.

wtf? if it doesn't have the hr, it's not a 07 model.

moflow 03-01-2007 09:25 AM

Are you sure there's no HR? maybe the salesman doesn't know his ****. It seems very unlikely that nissan would build more models of Z's than it has to. In other words if they switched production over to the HR, it'd be more expensive for them to keep putting the old engine into SOME of their cars and not others. Surefire way to find out is to check for dual intakes under the hood. Dealer should have no problem with that.

Of course maybe you've already done that and i'm completely wrong in which case

damn that's crazy! it sucks to be you!

http://www.nissankuwait.com/350z/350...fications.html

It does list the VQ35DE, BUT I believe that is an '06. Nissan Kuwait's main page has a banner for the '06 Murano so I doubt the Z could be an '07.

Saud, he gave you the wrong hp number, though. The site says 294.

saud2k 03-01-2007 01:41 PM

im sure its the 07 model...and if it is the 06..why doesnt it have the 300hp rev-up engine?..it really sucks here..i guess im goin with the g35 sedan..

LouiZ 03-01-2007 02:05 PM

look at the hood! its not an 07!
