You don't have to have emissions for a new car unless its 5 years or older in my state, and im not worried about it until then, but passing emissions here isn't difficult if you know the right people.

I haven't done research on it, I've never worried about it.

As far as VDC, I never liked it or used it, so it won't be on my car. I don't know enough about it to know if it can be kept, if its all electronical and nothing to do with the stock motor and transmission which left my car then it could be kept, possibly parts could be moved from the old motor to the new motor.

Maybe someone could enlighten us on what is involved with VDC?

As far as doing this mod, you are basically taking your car from luxery/sport car to a pure sports car and you loose the luxery of some of it like VDC and possibly AC. Everything else though on the car looks as if it will work nicely.

We will know more about it, I have run into a rut as soon as I did this, because unexpected things came up. I didn't have the time or money to dump in the car, but now I have things squared away, so we will be working on the car full steam soon as we get the motor back from the machine shop and after the NDRA race at Bristol, TN next month which are Supra is attending to compete in the pro street tire class. The car isn't actually owned by Batlground and they aren't funding it, so now that I am on my feet again, we will still be on Schedule for Nopi Nationals, God Willing nothing else comes up

It's all about transfer of the power. For example Superchargers Vs. Turbos... or some could even argue front engine vs mid engine (same hp of course). I wouldn't be suprised if a car with less hp and spraying could make the same times as a higher hp'd car.
This is because of traction problems mainly. The 700hp supra would lay out the 500hp supra on the highway.

"transfer of power" is meaning transfering it to the ground. I.E. slamming 700hp to the wheels from a stop. It's really traction issues.

Most of it is driver, I have a friend with a 650rwhp who can only run 12's, but he let someone else drive and he ran a 10.9. Driver and traction, Supra owners have a hard time getting their car to hook.

But most of it comes down to power to weight, a 700hp 350z should outrun a 750hp targa top supra, they wiegh more.

A lot of aspects, but yeah i've heard that joke before, I rag on my supra friends too But I love the cars, I almost bought one, I just have to stay true to the Nissan vs Toyota rivalry we have going on.

Front clip runs around $4000. Not sure about installation yet. I wouldnt recommend putting a 2JZ in a 350Z. But you could. You can find engines to buy almost anywhere do a web search or email me.

Default Project Update

The project is still going on, but the shop doing the work has changed. Batlground Engineering could not take on the project due to time with thier Race Team. A new shop, with outstanding mechanics and great support, Twisted Tuning in Alpharetta GA is taking on the project with the motivation required to do it.

Expect the project complete now within a few months, and Twisted Tuning will be ready to take on other customers 350z's to turn them into 500rwhp + machines. We still expect 800rwhp and the car will be ran in the NDRA race season next year in pro street tire class.

I will keep you updated on our progress now with photos in the upcoming weeks.

from what i heard from Battleground at Nopi, they said the car was put back to stock and sold, and the motor sold. The guy said the guy with the Z ran out of funds..
i didnt hear this from the owner, just a battleground employee that told me this.
sucks cuz it seemed like a cool project

I'm sure it would've cost more than alot to manage such conversion.
Maybe someone else will try it again.

Interesting. He should of have waited and then posted. So much hype. Why didn't he choose the RB25DETT. Which is already a rwd car. Wouldn't tha be easier?

im assuming cause the rb25det only has one t and is hence single turbo, and if your gonna go through the trouble you might as well get the GTR motor, all you need for the 26 to work should be the tranny and oil pan.

I just thought since the RB25DET is RWD and the RB26DETT is AWD. The 25 maybe easier.
