<satire>We should get a Z and put an SR20DET in it. It'll make it closer to 50/50 weight distribution and make the same HP with a few upgrades. Sure we'd have hell with the wiring harness but the rewards would be great. </satire>
If you have any questions, refer to this tenative pricing chart for my prices: http://www.akgmotorsport.com/answerprice.html
Did you know 1 and 2JZs fit in S13s?

well a SR20 would be a 'okay" swap in a 350Z.
there was just a SR20 swap in a old Datsun 240Z... its very badass.
why he went with the 26 is well.. more power. bigger is always better when it comes to size, and plus parts for the 26 is alot easier to come by here in the states.
all you would need is a Rb20 pan, and Rb25 tranny, and driveshaft... which im sure would have to be cut and or have a custom one made.
im guessing on the oil pan too, im just guessing that it would be almost the same type of swap as you would do in a Datsun Z.
if it were me, and i had a 350Z and wanted to be different i would deff stick with the VQ and stroke it, turbo it, build it... you get the idea.
or a VG30DETT
as soon as im out of school and start working, and done with my my 280Z hybrid ill be buying a 350Z.... but im doing something WAY different...

i don't understand why people are so sceptic about the Z being AWD. I mean, people do this to Tiburon's and Neon's for the rally races, why not the Z, and again those Z's were for Pikes Peak so i wouldn't doubt it.

SR20DET???
Have you guys tuned the SR20DET to high HP yet?
Most of the parts are j-spec. If you choose the GT2540, GT3037S, T78, T88... they are all made for LHD and don't fit without modifications. I was so dissappointed when I recieved the parts.
I don't think the SR20DET would be a good chice. In high hp applications the engine is laggy and you need to change all internals.
VQ will be all right in the future. You can get low compression Pistons already and lots of other things. By the time the engine will take high hp and turbo boost easy.

GTRS maybe because it has an internal wg. and just replaces the stock turbo on the stock manifold. If you want to go bigger (GT3037s in my case) you have to weld and weld and weld.

I was thinking about a swap and asked Unstable-Hybrids out in GA about it. I asked for an AWD R34 (6-speed) RB26 with an MFD showing OBD II diagnostics. They gave a rough estimate of $20k. That's a lot of money, but seems other Z owners have spent close to that much on engine/aero/wheels/sound mods.
