WOW, learn not to make a thread until you have well over 10000 posts.

LAME THREAD, USE BLOGS TO THROW YOUR ANGER OUT. Not a thread.

djnc Mar 11, 2007 12:46 PM

i kinda agree...people who do irresponsible things and crash their cars are annoying as hell, but a lot of people crash their car because of factors beyond their control

shezzzhot Mar 11, 2007 12:46 PM

Like gas, we pay to play. I hate it too...but I'm still driving my Z!

350z00m Mar 11, 2007 12:49 PM

paying gas is a nesscity.... crashing cars cause your an ass... 100% avoidable. so its not the same as "paying for gas"

Most of the time the people who crash their cars are the ones with rich parents, so they usually have them buy them another one if they survive.

Incorrect assumption... The large majority of automobile collisions are caused by driver negligence.

bofa Mar 11, 2007 06:41 PM

Why get pissed over something beyond your control? Move on and pay the insurance if you want to drive the car.

ohSIXz Mar 11, 2007 07:03 PM

we need a "RANT" forum for topics like these. just be lucky you dont crash yer Z.

I support your war on chitty drivers

I was going to post the same thing. You don't think everyone encounters obstacles on the road?

If you crash, most likely it's your fault. The next time I hear "I crashed because there was water on the road", I'm going to scowl at my monitor. I would like to hear "I crashed because I was going way too fast for the conditions, and I screwed up." You don't learn if you blame other things.

Here, in BC, our insurance is going to increase significantly because of sh!tty drivers.

this thread is disgusting. an accident is an accident... meaning its not intentional. i just hope that those who get in accidents do not get injured and are able to come away from the accident with just a financial loss that is replacable, versus having more serious consequences. just my two cents

Just a personal observation:

I've noticed that the times when I've "almost" had a wreck were because I let myself get distracted by something and focused less on my driving as a result. Things like: screwing with my iPod, GPS system, something in the passenger seat, whatever. I've started putting my iPod in a place where I can't see it just so I'm not tempted to mess with it while driving.

And this is coming from a person who drives pretty fast (most passengers say I scare them), and still, my close calls are from distractions, not from driving fast. Actually, I find when I drive "fast", I concentrate more because I know I'm going fast and the penalty for error is greater.

Accidents are almost always the result of poor behaviors meeting with bad situations. In other words, at least 99.99% are preventable. The remaining 0.01% probably are preventable as well.

Calling something an "accident" is attempting to absolve yourself of any responsibility.

explain to me how 2 weeks ago when i crashed mine i was supposed to avoid it. i came to a complete stop at a stop sign, turned right and there was an inch of snow with a sheet of ice underneath the snow. the front of the car started to wash (going 5mph mind you), the abs started going crazy, i tried letting off the brakes to regain some steering, i tried letting up the steering to a less extreme angle to try and get traction, i tried to kick the tail out a little to overcome the understeer as much as vdc would let me, but the car continued to understeer accross the raod that was on a slight decline until it made contact with the curb going no more than 5 mph.

there are accidents where there's really nothing you can do. until 2 weeks ago i'd never been involved in an accident where i was at fault (2 where i was already stopped at a stoplight and rear ended, and another where some guy tried to go in between me and the car directly next to me). i drive careful and dont go crazy, especially in the snow. so it's really not fair to say that it's just us *******s who drive up your insurance...and before someone says that i shouldnt have been driving it in that weather, i was trying to get the car home from a friends house before it started snowing harder.
