Angry why are z mods so expensive

is there really any good reason that everything for the 350z has to cost twice as much as it would if it were for another car

I feel your pain bro, but once you start modding you can't stop! And then your gf starts to ***** about how you love the car more then her.

i guess cause its more of a limmited production car than say a . . . honda civic. which is also good i guess cause it scares these little kids away from buying one a little bit more. and i guess its good that i dont have a gf all my money can go toward the car.

Unfortunately thats how the manufacturing business is. Lower production numbers = higher profit margin. Thats why performance parts for a the Chevy 350 are so cheap, its been around since the 1950's.

It's called "supply and demand". With the limited demand, it cost more per part to produce them. And there are less companies competing for that smaller market.

Compare it to a Rustang which sold 200,000 units in the first year. There's a bigger potential market so there will be more companies making parts so there is competition to drive down prices. The larger production runs keep price per part lower too.

Simple ... the parts on your factory Z33 are already that of high quality. You'll need something much better to replace these parts, that yields higher production costs in a very high performance part.

Ever wonder why some uglier brands (megan, pit, ect) are cheaper? They don't add much more performance, while others do. (I want to sell my PIT SS soon just because it's too damn big for NA.)

More expensive car = more expensive parts.

Lambo exhaust costs what our Z costs from the dealership.

Although I am aware of the reason and high cost of modding, unfortunately it has kept me from doing it. I am even considering selling it and buying something else. It's sad but a reality.

If you can't afford to buy the Z and mod it, then why buy it with that intention? Otherwise just go stock (no shame) or buy a cheaper car (or used Z) so you can afford to mod it.

you think Z parts are expensive. the G market is even more limited. for example, there are tons strut bars available for the Z, but the G there are only a few.

In terms of what? Most motor and suspension parts are inter-swappable, same with rims. only issue I could see is body kits and spoilers.

I know what you mean. I had a WRX before and parts were quite a bit cheaper.

But I like to buy a car I'm happy with stock and then if I get enough cash to mod it then its all the better.

Another good reason so far as motor wise is because evrything is aluminum. My friends are building there jeep motors for around a $1000. When pistons for are cars cost that much.
