What's the break in milelage for a new 350Z?

I just bought a new 350Z(Silverstone of course) and wanted to know how many miles before my car would be broken in and what results should I expect. I had a 2002 Mustang GT and had to get rid of it after a year because the engine messed up( bent valves, something about piston heads etc. maybe got a lemon). I want to get your opinions on this subject, as to not mess up on this piece of ARTWORK.

All suggestions will be helpful. Thanks!

1200 miles is the break-in point. Also says it in the manual

Thanks, I did a little more research and don't know if I messed my car up or not. I have taken it 5000 to 6000 rpm at least 10 times and am at 700 miles now. Accidently down shifted a few times learning the clutch also. Have I made a big mistake or can I change the oil and keep it in tip top shape?

it says to keep it under 4,000 RPMs before the breakin point. Personally.. by the time i got to 1000 miles... i started taking it past 4K a couple times. I didn't want to baby the car too much. I think you should be fine.. but try not to take it up to 6K alot yet.

Once I hit 700 mls I ran it up towards 5k a couple of times. You shouldn't really have a problem, but I'd try to stay away from downshifting to hard in the future if I were you ;).

The main problem I had during the break-in was not opening up the throttle. :)

You probably haven't hurt it, just remember to vary your speeds A LOT. If you are concerned, you can change the oil and check for big lumps in it. Uh, I would recommend you read all your manual, you really need to know some of the info in it to keep your car in good shape.
