http://www.caranddriver.com/features...ssan-350z.html

Now all of a sudden they got the 1/4 down by half a second????
The same goes for the RX-8. They had the RX-8 at 5.8 sec for a 0-60 mph time, and now they have it at 6.5 . 1/4 mile time was around 14.4, and now it's at 15.0 .

I don't know who is driving this time around, but certainly not the regular testers.

And stop dissing on the RX-8. I love the Z for its speed and price, but I love the RX-8 for its nimble nature and overall fun factor. Gotta remember, how you rate a sports car is not all about 0 - 60 times.

I just not fun when titans and tundras are passing you.

Nissan Titan 0 - 60 MPH: 7.6 Sec
Quarter Mile: 16.0
Top Speed: 120ish

Toyota Tundra: 0 - 60: 6.3 Sec
Quarter Mile: 14.7
Top Speed: ?

*Both Titan and Tundra facts taken from Wikipedia.org
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mazda RX-8: 0 - 60: 5.9 Sec
Quarter Mile: 14.5 @ 95.6 mph
Top Speed:148 (Electronically Limited)

Nissan 350Z: 0 - 60: 5.4 sec
Quarter Mile: 14.1 @ 101.0 mph ('03 model)
Top Speed: 155 (Electronically Limiited)

Both RX-8 and 350Z facts are taken from: modernracer.com
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, if you want to compare RX-8 and 350Z, the 350Z is clearly faster although both have similar top speeds. But don't compare the Titan and the Tundra to the RX-8....they certainly aren't passing it.

Proof? It can do better than 14.5 seconds in the quarter? Show me a link.

And check it out:

http://www.dragtimes.com/Toyota-Tund...lip-11577.html

15.75 seconds in the 1/4 mile? My math skills may not be great, but I don't think that's faster than 14.5........

I, for one, don't base it on just the 0-60. But Car and Driver said Z was the fastest around the track. It posted the fastest time around the circuit. So how does the fastest sports car in a sports car contest wind up 3rd?

The Mustangs are kinda fat too (3500+lbs), which doesn't really help them in the quarter...
Oh Okay that would be why.. Thanks for that hahah.. I was like wtf who actually believe those numbers haha

I don't get it, how is it the Z can perform just as well, if not better than a GT 500?

Even when a car is the SLOWEST around the track and has the SLOWEST 0-60 and SLOWEST 1/4 mile, Car and Driver STILL gives the car FIRST PLACE:

http://www.caranddriver.com/comparis...sx-type-s.html

And, yes, everyone, it IS an RSX, so in fact, RSX IS FASTER!!!

I don't think the Z is faster than the GT500 (supercharged, with 500hp), just faster than 330hp (24hp more than Z) ShelbyGT that weights 300lbs more. Makes sense to me.

Wow you were next to useless in explaining anything. It was because it's not a GT 500, it's a Shelby GT. Thanks danduvz for pointing that out.

Beats the hell out of me. Ask Car and Driver for their reasoning. I think it should have beaten out the TT. All I know is it didn't just come in 3rd, it got KILLED by the RX-8 and Audi TT. The RX-8 got a total of 198 points, the TT got a total of 192, and the 350Z got a total of 167.

Obviously, they really must not like the 350Z at Car and Driver, for something other than straight line performance.

LOL, someone is P!SSED about something! Good to see a magazine can get you that angry at the RX-8, for something it had no control over.

RSX is not faster than an RX-8. RSX type S isn't near as fast as an RX-8 either. From modernracer.com:

RSX Type S 0 - 60: 6.5
RX-8: 5.9

So nice attempt to down play the RX-8. Too bad you didn't do your homework beforehand.

lol. Just because I just started posting on this site doesn't mean I am uneducated.

And I didn't ask you whether or not you OWNED the car, I was replying to the fact that you didn't know where I received the imformation when I had clearly stated the location in the original post. Here, would this make it easier for you?
