chip shortage delays production
Speaking with my dealer today, he has been notified by nissan that one of his July prod. cars has been delayed one moth due to chip shortages by one of the suppliers. This dealer only had 9 units presold with 5 having order numbers so does that translate to 20% production delay for the rest of us? A wiring CD has been released to the service depts. as well as tech's attending service training. We're getting close.

That confirms other info I was told. Hitachi is the one not providing that chip and that we will not see the first cars for customers until mid to late September now.

My dealer indicated to me Wednesday that my order will be delayed from "October" to the "end of October" due to a supplier unable to deliver the chips.
To his credit, he is very cautious in giving "dates" as I'm sure he has experience with irate customers when he or one of his salespeople has been unable to deliver as promised.
On the plus side, I'm thinking what a great Christmas gift.
