Oh christ..here we go again..I bet you think with a good clutch the new Z is a solid 12 second car.

I only started in again because I thought you were ready to be civil. But, I guess I was wrong. It's funny that someone that claims to be old enough to be my father resorts to name calling and also admits to street racing 3 years ago. Pathetic.

There's an 06 350Z, with the rims I want, but it's silverstone. It's beautiful and only has 3,300 miles. AND It's 18,500. Not sure if it's clean title or not, but if it is....

However, it's 500 miles away. Do you guys think it's worth the trip to go out there? For that price?

This is what it looks like.

For what it's worth, I was able to blow the doors off of an 04 G35 coupe, stock. Took him from a dig all the way up to 95+ before shutting down. (couldn't go any faster, main road not freeway)

I'd check into it. Do a carfax, make sure the title is clean. If it is, effin A, go for that shiat.

Something doesnt sound right about that deal. Too good to be true. I'd be VERY skeptical.

Yeah, I made the mistake of buying a 2000 Turbocharged Prelude with a rebuilt title for $7500. Now I am trying to get rid of it for like... $6500 - $7000 so I can get my new Z.

I'm not afraid of it being dependable, I'm sure it will be. However, when I try and sell it later down the road, it'll be a b****.

Yeah, that's exactly what my problem is now. I can't just trade it in because dealers tell me they will give me 3 - 4K and I'm like, "Eff that". I can private sell it for What I owe on it, I'm sure. I still owe $6000. I may try and get $7000 from somebody who doesn't care about the title.

How easy (cheap) is it to throw on a supercharger or turbo on one of these cars?

I'm looking for rough estimates, with kit tune and install.

I know for stangs, a vortech will run anywhere from $4500 to $5000 with install and tune, and a kenne bell will go around $6500.. Is it around the same for Z's?

http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...eadExists=true

This doesn't look..bad...but I think I'll look around some more before throwing that much money into a car..

Plus, that's not the touring model, right?

Base model = no traction control or cruise control on steering wheel
Touring = leather seats, electric and heated

If you're in the market for a used Z, you should get familiar with the models of the different years. http://www.nissanhelp.com/
The main differences with the models had to do with wheels and having or not having cruise control, leather seats, TC(traction control), limited slip differential, VDC(Vehicle Dynamic Control), and Brembo brakes.

Damn! So if I wanted cruise control, leather seats, TC and LSD, could I find all those in a Touring model (don't even know what VDC is)?

Checking the nissan site now..

I thought Touring was the lower end model, I guess not!

So it goes something like this? Base, Enthusiast, Performance, Touring, Track, Grand Touring?

Touring comes standard with VDC, LSD And TC Right?

*edit: crap I'm being redundant

Update: Base Model = none of the below but also no LSD (which is important IMHO).

I switched from a '01 Cobra 'vert in Nov. to a '03 Enthusiast Z w/ a 5AT. That was after 15+ years of driving stick shift Mustangs. I'm really not missing much other than the 'vert part yet. I won't get a 'vert Z as I think they're fugly w/ the top up.

Mileage is about 20 w/ most being city. I managed 17-18 w/ the Cobra. The Cobra topped at 27mpg on the x-way and I haven't been on a decent length freeway trip w/ the Z yet to get a good guage for top mileage.

It's stiffer than the Cobra for sure. The Cobra's seats were more comfortable and had more range of adjustability. Brakes were a bit better too in the Cobra. The Z feels every bit as quick on the street although I haven't had it to the track yet to see how it does in the 1/4. Weather is finally nice enough that will happen soon. It'll be nice being able to launch w/out the wheelhop the Cobra IRS is famous for.

Overall I think you'll be happy w/ the change.
