Can't make a decision on a new car
 

I just joined this forum like 2 days ago and i've been reading some of the other threads and looking at the z's for sale, but i just can't make a decision on a new car. I've driven a few g35's and i rode in a Z once, but after riding in my friends gt it just seemed so much faster. I have a big V8 now and i'm looking to go more pratical so i've been looking at the Z's. I've always thought it was a beautiful car but i don't know if I will like it over the big V8 sound. Somebody please give me some stories of whooping a Gt's a** or something. Oh yea and my cousin has his big Harley Davidson f-150 and it beats me now and he says with the z i'll never beat him...and if the guy from cali with the yellow turbonectics Z reads this please comment cause i was biding on the car on ebay and then it was gone

i have a G now, and i loved my old Z 20 times better

haha my friend had an rsx type s and my impala ss killed him i dont think he drove very well but he wrapped it around a telephone pole and now he's looking at Z's

Z is a better looking car. Mustang is still a mustang. It will never be better than a Z.

True it looks 100 times better and a black Z wouldn't look bad in the driveway next to my sisters black g35 and my dads black maxima

Welcome. The 350Z is far from the fastest car on the street. Get something else.

with the right mods youll be able to take gts. there are plenty of guys here with mid 12's and lower. and the way i look at it. stangs are dime a dozen and are pretty much a chick car nowadays. zs have a way more exotic look, and its a different class of car. chicks will pay more attention to you in a z then just a stang

I could be wrong but I was under the impression the Z is still faster then the current mustang GT(i assume this since it was faster then the shelby edition from the other thread that was posted)

So maybe it's not ear drum blowing loud, but it is still just as fast if not faster then your "big v8"

so as far as straight line speed is concerned, no big deal. But i do promise you, you will be much happier driving the Z in tight turns then that big "v8 mustang* of yours.

anyhow just my thoughts. If the Z isn't as fast as the Z, I think you will be much happier with the Z. It feels better and looks better.

I'm a new Z owner and have never driven a new Mustang, so I am not really giving a fully informed opinion. I really love my Z, but if you're looking for a "practical" car, the Z isn't it. 2 seats and enough trunk space for just about nothing, I am glad that I have other cars when I need to move anything larger than a carry on bag.

I think that unless you "need" to buy a new car immediately for transportation you should wait until you have no doubt about what you want. I briefly considered an STI, but once I started giving it some serious thought there was no doubt in my mind about what I just had to have. A Magnetic Black Z.

There will always be faster cars out there, but with a Z you get a car that is faster than 95% of the cars on the street and looks better than 99% of them. No brainer in my opinion...

The Z is a great car, no doubt. But practical? I guess that all depends on what you mean by practical.
If you are more concerned over a cars sound than their performance, better stick with a big V8.

wait, a stock mustang GT faster than a stock Z...???

Actually, in a straight line, it should be pretty damn close between the two.
The GT has more torque than the Z.

Take this for what it's worth... the Z is a much better looking car, and the '07 Z's are running 13.3's stock. The sound that emits from the tailpipes of the Z is to die for... no Mustangs will ever sound as good. Not only will you have a decently fast car, but it'll hand the Mustang it's ass in anything that requires turning the steering wheel.
Is this some kind of paradox?
