What's the employee discount?

My girlfriend's work is associated with Nissan (she didn't specify whether it was a dealership, or a corporate office), and one of the employees at nissan told my girlfriend that she'd be able to give her the employee discount on an 07 Z.

Any employees at nissan know what this is? Is the discount off MSRP, or invoice price?

*edit: my girlfriend only talked to this Nissan employee for a little bit, and she was told that she'd be called back about the details...but I was just wondering if anyone here knows.

My guess would be a few hundred over wholesale, or possible wholesale itself.

employee discount means less then invoice i think

when i asked about an employee discount at my work on an 03 track, they knocked off about 2k of asking price, never did find out what they gave him for it

Hm, possibly because it was a rare(-er) Z? I'm looking for an 07 Enthusiast probably, if the price is good...Maybe touring if the price is amazing :p

and if the deal sucks, well, back to 03/04s I go. :p

I do not know for sure but I would think it would be at invoice minus the normal 599 - 650 dealer fee that is tacked on to all cars.

this was like a year ago i found that price, 07s werent out, and this is at a ford dealership so they marked it up high seeming how its one of the few sportscars they get for trade in.really high....

Sounds like a ploy to me.

A Nissan employee refers a customer. The customer buys a car, and the salesperson gives the employee $100 for the referral.

I've always wondered this as well. If it's good i'm gonna try and get a job there just for a lil bit so i can get my new Z. Sorta like what i did at BestBuy when i was about to move into my new house.

Well I know that it's 10% off Something, not a bad deal if it's off MSRP, but if it's off invoice..

SniperHunter May 21, 2007 07:40 PM

Supposed to be wholesale + 10%. Don't shoot the messenger.

I got my Z through an employee VPP discount back in 2003. I believe the discount was 1.5% or 2% below invoice and was fixed (non-negotiable).

2003DropTopGT May 21, 2007 10:35 PM

Well I just figured out the person my gf talked to was from corporate, not a dealership.. and it's 10% subtracted from something, just don't know what yet..
