Z at Brown's Arlington (VA) Nissan

In case anyone is interested, my salesman just called me (that sound you hear is the sound of the earth stopping spinning on its axis) and told me that a Z will be at his dealership (Brown's Arlington Nissan) for 30 minutes tomorrow (Monday) night from 6:30 until 7:00.

blackknight Jul 29, 2002 06:57 AM

I'll be there!!!!!!!!!!!:D

Don't know, but my guess is yes. BTW, blacknight say hi if you come by. I will be the big guy (6'3", 270) with glasses.

Yea. Hand the camera to someone, and get a group pic of all you my350z.com gents standing near the Z!

And write down the VIN number of the car

And flip the lid of the coin-holder/ashtray looking compartment, stick something in there to get a size reference, and take a pic.

And one more thing....look at the carpet just behind the pedals. On the production model I looked at yesterday, I thought they cut the carpetline down a bit low. Not that anyone would see it unless they have their head on the floor, but whenever you do have have your head on the floor - it's noticeable.

Does that mean you aren't going to do the rest of my requests?

:D

Thanks for the VIN. I have no idea what I am going to with that, except to plug it into that neat weblink that Bonz previously provided (I think it was Bonz).

Actually, I'll probably track that VIN number from dealer to dealer, calculate the miles it has covered, and send Nissan emails to change the oil at the proper intervals.

Hmm..Guess the odometer reading would work just as well.

So now I need the odometer reading:D

If i get over there tomorrow i'll do my best ;)

BigBadBuford Jul 29, 2002 06:21 PM

I'll probably be there too. I called the dealership and they told me the car was going to be there from 6-6:30 so you might want to get there before 6:30 just in case. I will be there taking some pics with my new Digital Camera. Hopefully I'll get to meet some my350z.com members and get ourselves a nice group photo.

I was wondering if all you metro DC fellows are planning to hook up some time when we all get our Z's. I probably won't get mine til later .I ordered May 13th, the last of my dealer's first allotment, for whatever that is worth.

Yeah, we have talked about it. One idea was to get a big group to take their cars out to Summit Point for its FATT (Friday at the track) program. That may or may not work because Summit Point is only open until late November/early December and someone posted that the FATT program is already full through October. I am unwilling to sign up (and pay my $175) until I have my car. If I don't get my car until late October, I probably won't take it there this year because I want the car more broken in the 1200 miles before I drive it hard. If Summit Point doesn't work out for the fall, hopefully we can do it next spring, and in the meantime, maybe we can all meet up in the fall for a Sunday drive somewhere.

Hmmm... I suppose I'll stop by for another look at the car, and perhaps a chance to sit in it. Is Brown's Arlington off of Rt. 7 near Bailey's X-Roads?

Crap, I let my g/f borrow my digital camera, and she's out of town on business. I'll be wearing a red tie and a light blue shirt and driving a 95 Accord Coupe with a big dent in the hood from the garage ceiling that collapsed on my car on Saturday night. :(

I bet your glad your Z didn't come in JULY!!

theZman Jul 29, 2002 09:39 PM

Yes, it's true. Interestingly, the Z was already there a few weeks ago and Brown's didn't notify any of there pre-order customers. When I found out, I wrote a scathing letter to Brown's and CC'd the top guy in NNA product promo. The next day, Brown's called and said that Nissan had arranged to bring the car back tonight at 6:30. Kuddos to Nissan!!!!

Shame on you Brown's...

Haha... that was the first thing that came out of my mouth following a few explicitive remarks.

Bobg Jul 29, 2002 09:54 PM

I ordered mine from Brown's in Fairfax. I called when the Blue one was making the rounds to ask if it was coming to their dealership and they said", It's here right now and is leaving in 20 minutes". I stated how unsatisfactory I felt their treatment was for not notifying anyone.( I had already been in the car for 20 minutes at the regional hdgtrs, but they did not know that ). My salesman called me about two hours later and aplogized saying that he did not know it was coming. I think that is a load, but we are powerless or power challenged at this time.:D
