Order Numbers - Many don't have them?
 

We still have a lot of blanks on the order number listing. I'm wondering if there are really this many people who have not received order numbers, or maybe lot's of people just have not posted them.

If you would rather not reveal your order number, please let me know with just a Yes, or a No, depending if you have rec'd one yet.

Maybe alot of people do not know that they are on the list, as it was created originally from those that had advised their packet numbers.

If you could take a minute, and see if your name is on this listing, and advise on status of your order number (have it, don't have it, or here is the number). If your name is not on the list, feel free to provide the info to be added. Also, if you have a VIN, you can advise that too, either by telling your VIN, or just advising you have one. I'll add that column once we see a need to.

My dealer seems to have forgotten about the incoming Z's. At least, they need constant reminding and then still quickly plead ignorance.

No order number yet. My dealer is making noises like no cars to him till October - mine will be later - November? Very discouraging

I have an order number, it starts with a T. That's all I remember.

No order confirmation number. I was order #6 at me dealer Baker-Jackson Nissan in Houston, and I ordered on 4/20. I was told to expect the car in November.

I have my Nissan confirmation (the black fold-out and pre-order black kit which included the CD-ROM.

My dealer told me yesterday that customer #1 is scheduled to get their car on Friday according to their last report. However, he hasn't seen an updated report for this week with tracking information, so he is not sure if last weeks report is accurate. He plans on calling me as soon as he gets confirmation.

This is from Canada though. Supposedly July production, labelled "first production" in Nissan's computer system, whereas other orders at the dealer are not. The order status has not moved to the expected "WIP" or "RAIL" as the dealer is expecting.

Ordered in Feb (the second week ordering was allowed in Canada).

No order number or anything like that yet. My dealer claims to have delivery dates of the first 4 of his allotment, but alas, I am number 5. Anyway, since you dont have it on your data sheet, I'm getting a chrome silver enthusiast.

Ordered 1/17. No order #, VIN, estimated delivery, NOTHING.

Have no order # have not heard from my dealer since ordering 2/19/02. Recieved confirmation of my order from Nissan on 4/18/02 for September-October delivery. Also recieved cd-rom and contents on 6/30/02. Performance 350 in black

Last dealer contact was in late May. No order number at that time. I plan to contact him again tomorrow now that some other folks seem to be getting updated delivery info. Am more interested in estimated ETA than the order # but if I get an order #, I'll at least post the prefix.

I agree. It's just easier to ask the dealer for the order number, then for the ETA, because they could just give you a guess on the ETA.

At least with an order number, we can feel better that our order has reached that stage of processing, and along with the order number is a target month for delivery.

I received word today that my Silverstone 6spd Touring is expected into Bommarito Nissan in St. Louis by 9/15/02. The salesperson that contacted me said this information was updated in Nissan's computers today. He said previous ship estimates only listed the end of each month (ie, 8/31, 9/31, 10/31), but now there are cars listed with mid-month arrival dates. Maybe as we are getting closer, they are able to estimate more precisely. I still don't have a VIN and forgot to ask my order #.

My dealer told me the order number and I wrote it down somewhere but didn't remember if it started with "R" or whatever. I don't see what good it will do me, so I don't really care what it is but just like to know that I have one.

So please put me down for "Yes" on the order number, and also fill in the other fields with Performance, Daytona Blue.

No order number yet, but I talked with my contact at NNA today and she has called the inventory manager at my dealer. He told her he had no order #s at all. My contact did say she expects my VIN# to arrive at the dealer very soon.

Apparently, they are starting to speed up the delivery process and she hinted the delivery dates(read mid Sept at the earliest) may be earlier. Only a hint, but she seemed positive. We'll see, my financing is set for Sept. 1 any way, so I will be ready to receive my rightful Z when I see its baby blues. The Xenons are blue, aren't they?

Unfortunately we wont know for certain if there is a true relation between order number and exact delivery date until people start getting their cars. And by the time we do get our cars none of this speculation will matter. Unfortunately there are thousands of pre-order people out there who havent gotten online and found this sight, so who knows what their order numbers are and when they are expecting to get their Z's. But based on what we do know, We can all pretty much rest easy knowing that we are gonna get our Z's... someday. So relax and try not to go too insane until that day comes.

Honestly, how much better or worse would things be for us if we actually did know that our cars were gonna get here on a specific date (unless that date was less than a week away). And even as much as 1 week of knowing and waiting would be worse than all the weeks I spent waiting for Christmas as kid put together. Personally, the anxiety I would feel would be stupifying!
