Depreciation of Z's
 

Im torn. Im moving to hawaii for a year and am thinking about selling my 03 Z, but am curious about the depreciation of Z's. Ive heard they keep their value pretty well, but no car payments for a year is enticing. Any advice on if I should just keep it here and pay for it or just sell it now?

Well in if you are serious about selling then do it before you leave, cus another year wasted is another year the resell value is gonna go down IMO.

-Depends on how much you like your car. You did say it was only for a year. It is a killer to be paying for something you cannot drive. I know the feeling. From what I have heard the resell on Z's isnt that great :icon22:

So why cant you drive a 350Z in Hawaii?

yea i guess i just gotta decide whether i want it long term cause if im going to keep it and pay for a year then i should keep it long term, otherwise its dumb to pay for a year and then sell and lose the depreciation

i can, but its a buttload to get it there so were just gonna buy something used and sell before we leave, were only there for 13-14 months

yea i think im gonna have to sell now. is there a separate forum for asking questions about that. i know theres the marketplace, but just wanted to ask about how much people got and how they got around the front tire issue and stuff

I would store a car that is paid for. But I cannot see making payments on a car that I am not driving.

i've always had good luck with autotrader. I usually sold within two to three weeks for my clean one owner low mileage vehicles..... paid a one time fee until the vehicle is sold. Good luck.

I just paid $17500 for my 2003 Touring (Auto). The car I bought has 63k miles, has a custom wabasto sunroof and 19" Axis rims with new Toyo rubber.

I wouldn't consider the resale that bad, but not that great either, othewise I would have had to pay a lot more for it. Then again, almost every performance car I know of has lousy depreciation...I was looking at Porsche Boxsters\Chevrolet Corvettes in the same price range.

WAY better resale than the SRT-4 that I previously had. Those drop value like a hot potato!

Just about all domestics depreciate rapidly.
The Honda's do seem to hold their value
because of their reliability.
When I traded my 2004 Accord V6 for my Z,
I was $2k positive in trade value.
I had 42000 miles, but in immaculate condition.
the Nissan dealer was all too happy to take her
off my hands for my Z.

If it's paid off, keep it.
If you owe, sell it.

wow,yea i guess i was thinking a little more. i dont have anything custom but the miles are lower and i know that affects price a lot. its like 44k
