IF Large shipment on 12th where are VIN's?
If RXO reported that there was some cars in the system, 600, and a large shipment on the 12th then why aren't there more VIN's.
I asked my dealer, North Point Nissan, If he had any VIN's and he reported NO. I ask this because repotedly a car gets its VIN just before being shipped. So are dealers not informed of the VIN's until they are in the States or are some dealers out of the loop? |
Some dealers dont have VINs yet from what I can tell. Might just be a function of the rate of speed at which they are notified by Nissan, at least that's my guess.

Someone in your dealership probably either has Vin numbers, or could get them if they wanted to. Also, they just had the big meeting in San Diego, so the managers of the dealerships have been out of town, and should be back at most dealerships today. They are the ones that would know how to get the info. My salesman called the regional office for my info because his boss was in San Diego, and he couldn't access his stuff.

All they have to do is check in the NNA computer. They have a list of all orders listed , recieved, models, options, ETD, and yes VINS if your car has been shipped. I believe that NNA updates it's computer as the delivery date gets closer. I initially had a ETD of sept 30 +- 10 days. I recently went to get my VIN and it had changed to Sept 6 +- 5 days. The ship is getting closer. I hope my car does not get too tossed around in the gulf with that tropical depression bertha. Just ask your dealer to look in the computer. They all have the ability to get into the NNA system they just may not know how or they don't want to.

Talk to your dealerships inventory manager, they seem to know much more than the sales people.

Got VIN #
Just got a call from my dealer with my VIN #. He said he had no idea when delivery would be but would let me know as soon as he heard something.
|
I wouldn't have mine if I didn't go down and sit with thr dealer on the computer. He had to log into the NNA computer and do some inquiries. I believe he found it under production for July 02. After he did this all the different models came up. One of which was 350 which he slected and all the cars built in July came up. My S tracking number was there and we clicked on it which brought up everything.
He had no idea that the info was already available. Even if he hasn't been told of the VIN # they are in the NNA computer. He just has to dig them out. |
got vin
JN1AZ34D13T100xxx, delivery ETA 9/19/02
Delivery backed up from Aug '02, ordered 1/15/02 (faxed in to NNA) was scheduled for 6/2002 build but obviously changed to later date. |
If people are not willing to post thier full VIN number or order numbers then why bother posting anything at all. It's really not helping anyone.

ZZZZZZ.... you already posted this same response to Scafremon's thread entitled Vin Soup. Why post it here as well?
I completely understand some people not wanting to post their full VIN. You never know who's out there waiting to steal your ride. We have seen it happen before, and in this age of bulletin boards where some people are not what they seem, things can get stolen. When I say somethings aren't what they seem, take yourself for example. You're not really in Afghanistan as you had listed for your location, you're in Ottawa and saying you're in Afghanistan really brings into question how serious you are about anything. I deleted your "location" tag because as I said, you're a Canadian, not an Afghanistan resident. -j- |
Thanks Jmanz
After reading the story sacfremon posted I have become nervous about divulging too much info. It's a shame because it's places like this that have the most up to date info.
