not enough power at home.
I've owned my Z for a couple months now, and haven't been all that impressed with the power. My buddy owns a 02 Maxima and his car feels like it has more power than mine.
Anyways, I took a trip this weekend to Iowa (had to see the in-laws), and when I got there it was like I had a brand new car. The power difference was incredible. The only thing I could think was damn if Sioux City wasn't such a crappy place to live I'd move here just for the power increase.
I honestly thought all of the people raving about the power of their Z's didn't know what the hell they were talking about or had never owned a car with real power.
Now, what can I do to bring more air into the engine aside from forced induction. I know that the Injen & AEM intakes gain power and then lose it after the ECU gets used to it, but there must be something that can be done. Hell, at this elevation I can probably run 87 octane without worrying about detonation (not that I'm going to try it).
I am now jealous of everyone who lives at low elevations with their Z's.

i used to be into jeeps, and i remember the hi altitude guys would retard their timing using a special crank positioning sensor in order to get some more power.
i have no idea how this would happen on the Z, but maybe you should look for some way to adjust the timing?

Hi jesseenglish. I also live in Colorado Springs. I have a '91 Twin Turbo Z so the altitude doesn't bother me as much. The snow sure sucks though.
Best,
