Parking my Z for a Year. Maintenance?
I am being forced to park my 2006 Z for a year due to spending a year overseas. Is there any preventative measures I should take before leaving my baby?
Thanks in Advance

Well the car should be ran at least every 30 days. But since you wont be around theres alot of things you must do before you leave. (That I am not sure exactly)

1. Park the car's tires on strips of home insulation to keep from flat-spotting the tires. Or you could just prop the whole car up on 4 jack stands and just remove the wheels and tires.
2. Crack open both windows a tad. This is because...
3. Disconnect the battery (At least the negative terminal). Once you do this, the windows will not auto-up/down on opening/closing the doors, so if you failed to do step, then you risk damaging the seals when opening the doors before reconnecting/charging the battery.
4. Fuel stabilizer in the fuel tank, although they tend to recommend this for only up to 6 months.... not sure what the best solution is in your case.
5. Stuff steel wool into the tailpipes to keep l'il critters from getting up in there.
6. Get a car cover, but don't tie it down too tight.

no need to start it, I went to Korea for a year, and all I did was
1. take battery out
2. Wash/Wax/Cover use Garage highly recommended.
3. change oil
4. park tires on carpeted mats.
5. top off with fuel and add fuel stabalizer
6. Cover exhaust tips and air intake!
Done this many times with my ZR and not one problem
