Most just needs paint, but is that rust spot the door/fender? I can't tell. That needs to get bumped out, then some body filler, primer, and paint.

And don't use a place that actually uses bondo. If you see that old mustang on something, bring it elsewhere, that stuff is awful.

Even if you took it to a body shop and got it fixed perfectly, it's bound to happen again eventually. if you drive it on the road with other cars, it will get nicks, and chips. There's no way around it. It's just a car. Get over it.

not if you buy the right car. and never drive it and sell it 50 years later. or look at some of the last year supras they sell for what they cost in 1998. granted inflation and such but still.

*note to op - don't follow so closely behind large vehicles .
also, don't stop till you get the power truck to pull over and exchange info.

if it bothers you that much then think of it as an opportunity to get a nice body kit. I for one am THANKFUL that all my scratches and nicks are on my front and rear bumper which can be replaced to make an improvement. the doors and fenders if damaged usually is repaired back to stock so much more depressing.

supras are much much rarer than 350z's. in 10-15 years, 350z's and parts for it will be traded dirt cheap to tuners like the 240 is today. different.

My 67 GT Fastback I would have to say is an investment, for some odd reason it keeps going up and up in value.

Take the literal definition of an investment for the benefit of being able to run your mouths some more.

Fact is, he paid money for a vehicle, and he wants to keep it as close to the original state as possible. Who doesn't?

It was obvious that I wasn't talking about an actual investment such as a stock option, or a CD, or even a house that you are fixing up. Get real.

Perhaps I should have said he wants to treat his car like it is an investment.

If you pay for something, you want to keep it in as good condition as possible, so that when you ARE ready to get rid of it, you can get as much as possible.

I understand your desires to nitpick words and try to spin them around so it seems like someone is being an idiot, but you are hitting a rubber wall here.

By all means, if you don't want to treat you are like it's an investment, then don't. I care not. But don't knock on someone else for wanting to do it.

Give it a rest.
