how many 300ZX's were produced

Anyone know the breakdown of how many 300ZX's and 300ZXTT's were built in their 6 year run? I know the last year had saw only 300 TT cars built, but what about in the early years.

Just so everyone knows here is a breakdown of Z31 and Z32 sales

Notice that 1990 had the largest volume and it decreases right away by 50%. I think its a safe bet to say this might happen with the 350Z as the car saturates its fan base in its first 1-2 years

But interesting enough the Z31 shows steadier sales for several years. Maybe the discrepency is in the affordability of the Z31 over the Z32 .. this may be a good sign for Nissan since they are lookin to sell an affordable Z this time around, but it may mean a lot of Z's being produced.

300ZX (Z31)
1984 73,652 - includes 5,000 50th AE Editions
1985 71,781
1986 60,090
1987 33,283
1988 20,051 - includes unknown number of White Pearl Special Editions

300ZX (Z32)
1990 39,290
1991 17,653
1992 6,704
1993 9,801
1994 4,836
1995 4,176
1996 unknown - last 300 units identifed with dash plaque

I hope the low price of the Z keeps sales respectable in the face of other sports cars due out. The most expencive 300ZX if adjusted for inflation would have been over $50K in todays dollars.

Put another way $26K today would have been like $20K back in 1990.:icon14:
