Last Build Month for 2003's and VIN

Hello,

Does anybody know the last month that the 2003 Z's were built? Does anybody have a relatively recent build date that can give me the rough VIN#?

I am looking to get into a 2003 possibly, and I want to make sure that I can get an April/May/June (if possible) build date based on the VIN#.

Any feedback is moocho appreciated.

Elmer.

Purchased vehicle last week. My vin was in the 20000's and the build date was 5/03. Hope this helps.

Anybody got a build date later than Peter? Beginning of May is the latest I've seen so far.

Thanks,
Elmer.

Mine is 019598 and the it was built in 5/03. The sticker on the driver side door will show the built date.

Thanks for the reply.

The reason I ask for VIN is because when the dealer looks in the computer, he seems to be only able to bring up VIN's, not build dates. By cross referencing your build date with a VIN, I can get an idea of the build date and avoid tire feathering, greasy windows, musical driver's chair, etc.

Have you noticed any of these issues with your May build? How is the paint on the front end? Is it still soft like the early builds?

Thanks,
Elmer.

Since I only have 700 or so miles on my car, I cannot really comment on the common problems known with the car. I do not have any grease streaks on the windows, I do not have a problem with the drivers side seat moving, and it is way too early to determine tire feathering. I do notice a few rattles here and there, the Bose system is horrible at any volume over 20 (too distorted), and the car seems to pull just a slight bit to the right. The funny thing is, I was real paranoid about purchasing a first year vehicle, which is why I waited this long, but I have no regrets. Go ahead and purchase the Z and stop reading the forums for a while, because it will take away from your enjoyment with the car.

I have to agree. My purchase was spontaneous and I didn't read a 350z forum until after I bought it. I have a few of the little issues that ppl have mentioned but I don't regret the buy one bit. :D

I got 1300 miles on the Z and no problem. The paint looks fine. I got some scatches but they were from freeway driving.....don't following those 18-wheelers.
