First 300, 350z's delivered?

Does anyone know if there's a way to determine if you Z was one of the first delivered in the world? I was at an Auto X event today and this guy stated that he had some paperwork showing that his 2003 350z was one of the first 300 delivered in the world. Anyone know anything about this, and could anyone tell me if I could find out if mine was one of the first? The previous owner took delivery of it in September 2002. Any suggestions?

Actually, you can call Nissan customer support and get the original in service date for your car. That's how they know when your warranty expires.

Correct. But the OP was asking about the date delivered or the date that the car came off the boat.

When talking about cars, the "delivery date" is the date is was delivered to a customer, not the date it came off the boat. It's still, "in the pipeline" until it hits the dealer's lot. Once it hits the lot, it's "in inventory". The date the customer picks it up, it's "delivered". I used to sell cars, these are the terms used.

From the OP's post:

The owner took delivery, not the port.

IIRC, the last 6 digits on your VIN number is your production number.

Yup 10 posts since 2003. I was interested in Z's way back then and I only just finally got to a point where I could purchase one. I did a lot of lurking. Thanks for pointing that out. I plan on keeping the car around a while and well since the previous owner provided me with everything including all of his delivery paperwork, window sticker and all maint. invoices I figured maybe I could find the above paperwork that I was talking about. Thanks again for the replies.

First 300 seems like a pretty arbitrary number to me. I would think having #350 would be cooler in fact, then having, say, #278 or whatever.

dont u think that the first 300 ones would be the most crappy with the most problems? thats imo

The first 300 were some brave souls.
