Hopefully one thing that will keep alot of 18 yr olds out of Zs is the high insurance rates they will have to pay.

Yeah because at 23 I pay less insurance (comprehensive 100/300k with 500 ded) for my 03 touring then I do for my 96 jeep cherokee 4wd that I paid 4k for.

I think I pay 110 for the z and 117 for the jeep a month.

I was stoked when I found that out, hell even a new Mustang GT convert was only going to be 128/month. 10 bucks more a month for a GT vert vs a Jeep Cherokee.

I guess the insurance companies put a lot of stock in curtain airbags, sticky tires, good brakes, and modern crumple zones.

Being only 23 and paying 110 a month for a Z isnt bad at all.

my 2 cents: The Z will continue to be a great car to own. As we've seen on several threads here, you guys can already pick out a poorly modded one, so what will be different when there are a few more out there? Also, who knows? It may give someone with some great ideas a good chance to buy one and get started on it...

Oh, and I only pay $94/mo combined to insure my 07 Z and 95 Wrangler.

I'm 37 and accident-free, so after multi-car discount the full coverage on my '07 Z w/ State Farm is only $51 per month.

<Loves sportbikes and has the tickets to prove it, plus a couple accidents

I'm just glad I don't pay 180-200 / month anymore now that the stuff on my record is getting older

Jeez, you guys outside of CA are paying pennies compared to us. I'm 29, accident-free, and still pay $140/month. I'm supposed to be "in good hands" with my insurance.

I will treat riced out Zs just like I treat riced out Hondas: I point and laugh.

Not really that bad.
180$+ 04Z'/07'Civic/89'RX7.

The truth insurance won't be a factor. 10 Years ago in high school, my friends woth preludes and GTR spiders had all their cars insured under their mom's who rarely drives and has 0 traffic records.

Pre-owned Z's are going for 11K (none salvage) so ya their pretty low, but most that are that price have over 125K miles and probably were beat on by the old owners so don't expect them to last long on the road.

The factor that would probably keep people from buying a Z is the coast of maintenance + cost of properly modding one. (If they were aware of it prior to buying it.)

LOL man I wish my insurance was that low! Mine is $260/month!!!! It sucks but I do have a few things against me so I guess thats what the insurance company feels is a fair price because I am a liability to them, oh and thats with full coverage but everything stipped off also(no glass coverage and a $1000 deductable)!!!

Very true, new Z owner!! Go easy everyone, I'm also one that is fortunate of the current economic situation at hand. Anyways a lot of you on the forum are not as socially elite as you think. A lot of you discourage the ideal of having a forum. It takes all kinds!!! I bought my Z because I'm a Nissan enthusiast, my Murano saved my life, then my wife talked me into trading in my Harley for our 06 3 fifty, a choice I won't regret.

I pay 380$ a month in insurance with progressive.

2 tickets, with my last car over the last 2 years.

I am fully covered, and I have no idea why it is so high..
