Jay's Rant for the night.
 

This is some seriously funny ****. I was going to list this in off topic but since it pertains to the site, I'll leave it here. Hope ya don't mind.

When you come to this site for the first time and attempt to register in the forum, it is listed plainly all over the place that you'll be emailed to confirm your email address. We do this to stop bots from spamming us with porn and stuff. The script sends the email right away but sometimes, but five times per day I guess, people don't get those emails.

Yes, they are sent but these people have spam protection set up and their software or provider thinks our email to them is spam, and moves it to trash right away. I understand that as much as the next guy, lord knows we all hate spam.

So sometimes, I get emails from people complaining they can't get in. Sometimes they are very polite and are just wondering where they made the wrong turn. It is printed in the site at the start as you are signing up that you'll be emailed, but many are in such a rush to read the forums that they skip the instructions.

No worries. Normally, I am fine with it and happy to help others find their way in here. That changed tonight though. Well, changed for one person. This guy emails me all swearing and frustrated, insulting the site and myself. He can't figure it out and he's being somewhat of a prick, blaming me for him not being able to figure something out. If he's just asked nicely like I'd say 95% do that somehow get lost, I am happy to help.

So I email him, explain the <b> reading instructions </b> theory and call him a dip **** for his troubles. He'd called the site and myself a few choice things so I thought I'd sprinkle the fire a little.

I know, I know, Bad Jay. ;)

He emails me back. Wooo Hoooo! Sound the alarm... we've got a winner!

This time he further compliments me on the site :rolleyes: and tells me that he's tried it several times via email confirmation and how nothing works. Instantly I understand his problem to be cookie based and easy to fix but this guy is a real frickin' tool and in all honesty, after his abuse in the first couple emails I really didn't want his dumb ass in the site. Just makes more work for the mods when you get some guy that thinks he's "the man".

I email him back, explain that 3071 other people registered without issue but yeah, he's probably right, they were all probably lucky and the site sucks. They fluked into getting it working I guess. I then point out there are many other sites that he can visit rather than this one.

He emails me back telling me about how Zcar.com kicks this sites ass and how he always knew I had inferior complexual probs, favoring the "girlie-colored blue" 350Z. This made me smile because I couldn't believe that Walmart sold books that taught about Psychology. I guess ya learn something new everyday huh?

So I decided to kill the fire. I told him to stop wasting my time. Truth is I should have just ignored this guy at the start, not like I care what he thinks. I just found it amusing and thought I'd share it with everyone. I don't know if this rocket scientist (with due respect to the *real* Rocket Scientist we have here in the my350z.com family) will figure things out and find his way in here, but I sure can't wait. :) Banning idiots is one of the things that keeps this fun. haha

Guess what Z4ME?! You're going to find that lots of people here feel the same way Jmanz does and support his actions. I for one think he's doing a great job. This is the only site I've donated money to because they work to keep things mature and civilized. Unlike other car sites I once frequented that have just degenerated to into steaming pile of you-know-what caused by a few bad apples.

Zcar.com better than this site, are you kidding me? Their forum layout stinks and is a pain in the ass to browse, that's why 9 out of 10 Z fans recommend my350z.com over the competition. :D

Jay, keep up the good work. Keep this place free from idiots. Keep this place civil, fun and happy. I for one say thanks for keeping pricks like that out.

There are people who live their lives without logging on to my350z.com? :eek:

Now people are going to say that jay bans people BEFORE they log onto the site. He must of got the idea from Minority Report..........:D :D :D :D

what a tool.....Jay, as always.....keep up the goodwork. A lot of effort is put into this site and it is paying off everyday.

We have a lot of turn-over at work so I get to see the best and worst side of humanity (usually people in their 20's). It always amazes me that people think the world owes them everything. What the hell have they been learning for the last 20 years?
Didn't anyone ever teach them one of life's simplest rules:

Without registering, you cannot see the forums. I like how he knows zcar.com kicks this sites ass, but has never seen this site's forums.

He will probably write back in a week or so saying sorry he is, and how his pet lizard died and he was taking it out on you. :)

I guess some people get a rise irritating others. At the other board you see some people get on and bash the new Z as the worst thing since the '73 Rambler Matador. Even if you felt that way why on earth would you be hanging out at a Z site - just because
you like getting a response? It's kind of juvenile. I absolutely hate the new Pontiac Aztek which IS the worst thing since the Matador but when my friend drove up in a new one I simply told him how interesting it was... I later ran into the bushes for a laugh fest but the guy was proud of his new purchase but why rain on his parade. 'Same with the Z or this Z site - if someone doesn't like it OK - move on - Don't just hang around so you can fart in my theater.

Victor, we all knew the truth about you, we just didn't want to tell you. Since the "Wal-MartRocket Scientist" has brought it to your attention, I guess we can finally spill it. You're a girl.

I'd love to see what a pinstriped Z would look like. The defunct Lincoln Blackwood had pinstriping, and it seemed like it'd be kinda cool on the right car, like a Range Rover or something-

So, Jay, I think I've found your "friend" posting at zcar. He was whining that you had to donate to logon to my350z. Dr. Bonz very politely explained that donations are not mandatory but that the site is worth it. Below is his reply (gawd I miss Zcar...NOT!!)

All i've got to say is Dr. Bonz I'm IMPRESSED, I mean an MD degree AND a PHD. BTW, I was wondering what your post about donating to this site has to do with controlling 70 mhh drift. All well, I guess I'm just a simpleton.

All I've got to say that I'm glad this guy is too stupid to do know the difference between a donation and a mandatory fee. We don't need him polluting our site with his hatefule crap.
