Couldn't believe my eyes
So I bought new tires a few months ago.I had to get the tire shop down the street to mount them cause my tire machine wouldn't cut it.I got them back and had one of my techs to put them back on the car.Today, being a nice sunny day,I decide to take the wheels off to clean the brake dust and crap from the insides.Low and behold I find a 245 on the right front and a 225 on the right rear.I've washed this car a ton of times and never noticed.Funny thing tho,it never felt odd driving it and does not feel any different now.

Just swap the wheels. J/K :)

Did you switch them around? Were they mounted on the wrong wheels? Did you leave it as it was?
|
You have a tire machine?
I don't have a tire machine. |
They were on the right wheels just wrong ends of the car.I swapped them around.Like I said,it drove just fine when they were backwards and feels the same now that they are on correctly.I thought I read on here that the dowel on the front hubs prevented this but I guess not.

i demand a better story...

Nope, when I first got my rims they put both rear wheels on the right side. TCS did not light up but if you hit the gas hard the rear end wanted to push to the side of the smaller rims.

i guess, never go back to that tire shop?

The car literally burst into flames. Literally. OP was writing as the story was unfolding, that's why he couldn't finish it. I finished it. OP is no longer with us. The case of the switched tires will remain forever one of history's mysteries.
Foreveryoung will remain foreveryoung. |
