Gtech'd car. Questions..
NOTE:TONIGHT WAS THE FIRST TIME I EVER FLOORED THE CAR IN FIRST GEAR.
stock 03 touring 6spd. 1800 miles. Regular oil. premium fuel. VDC off. Wheel spin was minimal in 1st. Outside Temperature was 66* Tire Pressure was @ 37 psi I'm at sea level Launched at somewhere above 3k I think 0-60 times only 1st run 0-60 in 6.2 (160lb passenger in car) 2nd run 0-60 in 6.1 (160lb passenger in car) 3rd run 0-60 in 6.0 (no passenger) different road A few questions: Do these times seem right? Will the car get faster with a few thousand more miles on it? I saw one of the magazines got 5.4 to 60 with an 03 touring 6spd. Shouldnt I be around there? Granted, tonight was the first time in my whole month of owning the Z, that I did a full throttle start. |
Shouldn't you be around there? You realize he was a trained professional with years of experience on hundreds of cars, righ? :-)

0-60 is suppose to be pretty accurate with G-tech. The numbers seem like in the ballpark, with some more practice and breakin it'll get faster.
Also the idea is for the unit to be calibrated with results at the track. So when you installed a new muffler you don't have to pay to see what it did. |
Tire pressures were too high for max launch...
Most importantly HOW were you launching it? |

Try launching between 1500-2000 rpm. 3k+ will give you more wheel spin, and that's what most likely is killing your time.

I ran a 5.56 0 to 60 time today. You have to let off the clutch and hit the gas at the correct time. To much wheel spin will slow you down. Try reving the car to around 2,000 rpm and drop the clutch.
