What have you done for your Z today?
Z1 Clutch and mid weight flywheel kit installed with new Redline fluid. I had a leaking rear main seal so that was replaced too. This replaced the factory setup at ~126 miles in my 2004.

Finally got around to fixing my horn issue. The factory low frequency horn had a short and kept blowing my fuse. Decided to just say screw it and replaced them both with Hella Sharptones. So much better!

Turned on the insurance for the Summer and drove the Z into work this morning. Topped of the tire pressures, filled the tank, and got it washed. There are 125k miles on it and, aside from driving it a few times this winter when I had to activate the insurance for a couple weeks while renewing the plates, I really haven't had it on the road much since I bought it in Mar-2018 (there were other house projects that were prioritized). I'll drive the Z through the rest of the Summer season and then switch back to my snow-tire equipped Passat for the Winter.
Things to do:
Things to do:
- figure out if it's just noisy tires (they're old) or bad hub/bearings contributing to the road noise at speed
- the Service Engine Soon light came on about mid-way on the drive...need to dump the OBD-II codes tonight and see what set that off
- install a Pioneer FH-X731 radio that I got at a decent price so that I can have Bluetooth and iPod connectivity on my commute
- (lower priority) upgrade the speakers and add the subwoofers/box that I bought
- (eventually) sort out the suspension clunks - bushings, shocks, etc.

Just an opinion, I wouldnt do low compression build. Tuning and part technology combined with more understanding is putting most builds in the "high" compression now.
If you're running atleast 93 octane, I see no positives of a low compression build and all negatives. More lag, less responsiveness, less overall HP numbers, laggier curve.
Ive had several Z bros give me regrets on doing low compression. My own build is 10.5:1, 650 / 93, 1000 / e85. If one is only doing 600 and 93 octane, I probably wouldnt go lower than 11:1

that is a very nice looking radiator. What are those blocks on the driver's side fan shroud?

Ordered nitto invo's for my car this morning only to find out they couldn't source the rear tires so changed the order to bridgestone potenza s04 pole positions. Can't wait to take off the very old potenza re760s from the rear and get rid of the crappy kinforest tires that i bought the car with 5 years ago. Review seem to be pretty good ... can't wait to see how well they actually do.
255/35r18 front 275/35r18 rear. only increased the width on the fronts from 245.
Should be installing friday or saturday.

After double checking some stats and reviews after leaving tire shop, i totally see these tires being really nice. Thanks for your review on them as well. Was a major let down to not get the invo.s that i wanted but after hearing your comment and seeing awsome reviews i feel like it might be the better deal

Ah, I only have a list of things I need to get to do soon. Oil change, new rear tires needed, diff. bushings, possibly wheels bearing
But I DID renewed my membership here at my350z
On the other side, I been thinking about getting a nice 300ZX 2+0 for a daily.

Installed my bridgestone s04 tires today, they feel amazing so far even though i haven't gotten on them yet. Waiting to break them in.
Bad note though. 3 of my 4 wheels the barrels are distorted. No shimmy in the steering wheel since the wheel is not bent sideway but in like the car had hit hard speed bumps or something. I am the only driver since i have owned it and never have hit any bumps hard. 1 of the wheels that has this problem has less than 1k miles and had replaced it myself so apparently rota wheels are much worse than i thought they were. Have heard many stories about them being crap. Since am not feeling any vibration will not rush to buy another set of wheel but will plan on it over the next few years.

Took the Z out for a spin last night. Still have an undiagnosed oil leak. Beginning to believe its from the upper oil pan. Not looking forward to ripping it apart 😑

Yeah. It was the result of a dumb mistake on my part. Tried to fit a small ladder in the car because the wife needed one IMMEDIATELY! had to ride home with it sticking out of the hatch a little. Made it the 2 miles, and on the last corner I hit a small bump. The hatch went up and back down, causing the front to seesaw into my window. The next night on the way to work I had the heater on (it was a Florida 8 hour winter), and it just stretched across the window. They're free to replace here in Florida under insurance, but I just haven't had the patience lately to deal with insurance and get it replaced.
