Had a very small oil leak coming from the lower pan gasket, so I replaced the gasket.
Walked down to the local brewery for lunch and a flight.. Just so that extra oil could drain out, ya' know.
..To find out that they're playing Cheech & Chong. Haha.. Oh man.
Walked back home, installed the new gasket and buttoned 'er up. Good to go!

Changed the valve covers and gaskets after I found some oil in 5 and 6 changing my spark plugs.
Noticed some "interesting" marks on one of the cams...
No marks on any of the lobes. I religiously check/change my oil. Wondering if I should be concerned or if this is common...

^ Are there any opposing marks on your head underneath that cam?

To be honest, I didn't even think to check the other side
There were some other similar marks in some other spots, but that pic shows the most pronounced areas. Everything was torqued to spec and nothing was loose.
Overall, the job didn't take too terribly long if you're familiar with taking off the plenum and the other components. Getting all the wiring out of the way was tedious. A couple bolts for the valve covers were a major PITA and made me wish I had Trump hands. Lol. A magnetic 10mm nut driver was a must.
I'd say about 4 hours start to finish. If I had to do it again, maybe 2.5. I took my time labeling every bolt that I removed. I put some extra RTV around the spark plug tube seals hoping that will prevent future issues.
EDIT: just re-read your post about the opposing marks. I didn't see any on the head - just the camshaft.

Scheduled my tune for Friday morning. It's an '05 N/A so I'm not really looking to break the 300hp mark like some of the dreamers on here, but I just want to make sure she's tuned properly based on some of the recent mods. I'll post up results after!
When I got my car about a year and a half ago, i did valve cover gaskets and plugs like you did it was a HUGE PITA, bolts snapped and my car sat for 2 weeks waiting on new ignition coils as well. Oil leaks are just one reason why you buy an HR over a DE LOL.

Thats pretty cool for playing race games... I would just rig it up with a jump box if you have one, once its adjusted you shouldn't really need to move it... Another good option might be a small inverter box. Are you trying to use a plug like from computer speakers?

A gaming seat with a live airbag. LOL! Are you going to take it out?

Yeah I just picked up a 12v 2A plug from the electronics store. An inverter would be good. Any amazon links?

It'd probably be a pain to rip out the seat airbag, FWIW. As long as you don't run into anything when you're playing video games you should be safe
EDIT:
Interesting... Wal-Mart hijacks the Amazon link. Admins, is that a server-side thing?
