Get an instructor next to you at a track / autoX event, that'll show them what their car can do so they know the limit and the "fun" of track instead of doing it on the street. And also it shows them how to control the car better I think.

I wouldnt say that is a sad fact, but it is a fact. Mistakes are excellent learning tools, and they should be looked at as a learning experences. When teaching something new to someone that I have experience with, I always think about mistakes I made, and/or problems I had. I pass it on in hopes that they will be better than I am. Key to a great coach/teacher.

Instead of spending all of your money on mods, take yourself to Sylvan Learning Center and figure out a nice grasp of the English language. Once you've learned to spell, you won't look like a tool on my350z.com and people will take you seriously when you ask for advice!

This thread is really just trying to stir up the whole," should teenagers get Z's debate. And quit frankly you'll no matter what always have people that are going to dislike younger Z drivers. I got my Z at age 18 after having driven a 1991 nissan 240sx for four years of high school. It all just depends on the kid. And I saw hells yea to the track day idea. Thats why I don't street race, drive stupid, etc.

^That has come up, but this thread is intended for people who already have the car. Some of the responses are stirring up the debate you are refering too.
I havent added anything yet, I wanted to get a pulse for the thread. Everyone thinks I'm a teenager now looking for advice I'm a failure at life... that was my favorite.
Some ideas I thought of
Budget money for tires.
The Z goes through them fast, and its important to have good traction regardless of how much experience you have. In the case of an inexperenced driver, it could save your life!
Ego
This has been mentioned. The Z is a hot car, and it takes responsibility to own one. Everyone wants to race, and you have to be able to resist the temptation.
Snow driving
keep the TCS on if equiped. Dont drift around in the snow on public roads. I know its fun. For one, obviously you may hit a curb or something, secondly, it glazes the tires and fills the tread with snow, you wont have much grip at all coming out of the slide. Third, getting the Z stuck is very easy. Lastly, the stock tires suck in the snow, get new ones asap if you plan on driving much in the winter(snow).

There's actually quite a bit of good advice in this thread. Major kudos to those users.
I wish there was a way to "teach" respect for not just our cars, but all cars. Not too long ago when I first stared driving my dad's Z he sat me down and explained that a car is not a car but more like a weapon. I understood that and think about that every single time I drive.
My advice: The Z is a BEAST of a vehicle and when you drive one it is absolutely essential that you respect that.
