What month did they start making 04's?

What is the difference between an 03 and 04?

Not totally sure....Mine is an 03' and it was manufactured in May, I purchased it in July new and I know the 2004s came soon after that.

The build date on mine is July 03 according to the sticker on driver's side. It showed up on my dealer on Aug. 27, 03 and I picked it up on the 29th. It was the first 04 coupe he'd delivered, although I'd see some people report 04 coupes showing up at dealers earlier elsewhere in the country (Cali comes to mind).

There was a piece of paper from the factory/port left in my car that has a bunch of Japanese on it. There's a red stamp that says:
OK
'03.7.16

As for changes, see https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....&postid=370759 and along w/many other threads. There are no knee pads on mine BTW. Some other changes not mentioned are:
- new plastic seat belt guide
- 2nd cigarette ligher plug
- non-nav door has changed

Yeah I've read somewhere the 04s have these knee pads, Mine didn't. And nobody including the dealers know what these are either. Does anyone here know what they are or where they are?

My 04 doesn't have knee pads either. THe book that came with the car said, 2004, production starting in july 03. THe knee pads are late avalability from what i understand.

I was in a similar boat, got my car sept 13th, first 04 coupe they sold, 3rd 04 over all. (they sold 2 roadsters before me).. But i have my second Cig and the new navy door, which i don't like, i wish it went back into the dash. o well
