2k sounds like a lot. Wouldnt it be cheaper to just buy new parts and get it painted? Not sure how much those parts are tho....

uh. that isn't a door ding to one of the earlier posts, that is a full blown dent.

rear fenders are not an easy fix, nor are doors. 2k sounds too cheap to me. I would expect this to be a very pricey job to get fixed right, with potential cut and weld in the rear fender, new door, the dents look too sharp and creased to hammer out properly.

this is all an uneducated guess based on what I see in the pics. take it for what it's worth.

File a claim against the drivers insurance company. A promise from the driver to pay you isnt worth spit.

Since you're in GA, I know a place that'll fix it for cheap and do a pretty good job. They fixed my Z $1000 less than dealer when I got backed into by a SUV on the passenger rear fender. They're in Norcross, though. PM me if you want the info.

damn .. a shop backed up till February

what shop is that? .. haha .. the new shop I work at only has a little work, and the shop I just left was dead

haven't really heard of any shops being backed up like that

.....................

as for that door .. they could probably get away with a new skin and repairing the rest of the door shell .. just as long as the intrusion beam isnt bent

they got a little blend room on the quarter after they repair it .. then new door skin (it'll be black, so whole thing gets painted) .. then blend the fender

and if your roommate is paying out of pocket instead of some retarded insurance company go ahead and get the shop to paint / blend the rocker

that way when they paint the whole side it will match instead of possibly being off

a new door for a Z is probably anywhere from $1000 to $1500 alone (vs. $200 to $400 for a door skin)

not including the paint time or body time @ $40 / hour

$2000 sounds about right for a door skin, repair door shell, repair quarter, jam door, and paint the entire side of the car

that quarter isnt too bad .. just pull the dent / crease back out and straighten it with body filler

I think it would be cheaper to buy a door from a junkyard or even from the forum(I've seen some for sale) and repaint it... The expensive part will be that rear quarter panel... That sucks tho man... GL with takin care of that...

Ouch! Sorry to hear it, my Girlfriend just had her brother-in-law back into her Pontiac G6 Convertible, not a fun ordeal. Hope it all works out!

She hit one of the most expensive panels to replace, too.

I have to agree with dkmesa350z in that for some of the girls here their wheel is spinning, but the hamster's dead, if ya know what I'm saying.

Thanks everyone for the input! Although my favorites do involve: sexual favors, showing her how strong my pimp hand is, and straight up murder; I think I'm still going to wait it out and take it to Shop 2.

It's Harbin's Auto Body Shop in Snellville. The owner of the shop told me that they are so busy because they've had a ton of people come in who have hit deer.

They are going to repair just like Adrians07Z said, "$2000 sounds about right for a door skin, repair door shell, repair quarter, jam door, and paint the entire side of the car." The only difference is they said that when they pull the bent part of the door skin back out, it would effectively pull the damaged part of the door shell back out as well, saving me from buying a new door skin.

As for my roommate paying for it, she told me last night that she is going to use my rent money to pay for it. I got a student loan just for "housing" and I pay for the whole semester at once ($2250), so it will cover it; and if I want, I can pay for it myself and just give her the change.

Thanks again everyone for the help!
