You just really huurt your pistons, and more specifically o-rings.
Everytime you downshift, it strains the o-rings, which is why driving a car 'nicely' and not downshifting 3 gears on a whim will generally increase the longevity of the car. What you did was probably equivalent to 40-60 regular downshifts.
I did this in my friends s2k because i wasn't used to a decent non clunky-*** shifter, and threw it from 6th to 2nd going 55mph. It still runs fine a year later.
btw i'm no s2k fanboy, that was the lamest car in the world to drive.

I disagree on the S2K. A newish one or a well-cared-for used one is really fun to drive. They don't do so well when abused, though. The price is WAY too high, and I didn't want a convertible, so I keep looking.
