I did this in my friends s2k because i wasn't used to a decent non clunky-*** shifter, and threw it from 6th to 2nd going 55mph. It still runs fine a year later.

btw i'm no s2k fanboy, that was the lamest car in the world to drive.

What on Earth are you talking about?

I disagree on the S2K. A newish one or a well-cared-for used one is really fun to drive. They don't do so well when abused, though. The price is WAY too high, and I didn't want a convertible, so I keep looking.

I wrongly assumed "Miss Shift" was going to be some new import model.

I would venture to say your car should be ok. Just don't make a habit of it...

I have had the car 3 years and this is the first time so it won't be a habit.

Downshifting strains the halogen fluid too.
